Keep it short and simple, away supporting numbers for Witton is turning dismal compared to last season. Just putting it out there. Back the lads ffs!!!
It’s noticeable today’s attendance was 184, yet for the corresponding fixture last season there was over 600. Now admittedly, there was more riding on that game last season but playing at a higher level should attract more people.
Yes, it’s been mentioned that our attendances have increased but not by as many as was hoped.
Didn’t go myself today so can’t comment but generally speaking most clubs at our level can only dream of away support like ours most of the time. Evidenced week in week out at our home games (Alty apart so far this season). UTA
Different this season Paul. People who work for the club only seem to be going. Everyone can go you know!!!
Fair comment mate but am more concerned about getting our home attendances up atm. Personally think this is more important than how many we take away. But get the point you are making. UTA
Our income is from our home games. Going away is an expensive day out as most teams in our league are miles away. Might go to Alty though.

No they can’t mate. Some people have to work, or they have kids they have to look after at a weekend and so with that can’t make as many away games as they’d like to!!!

And it’s just before Christmas, too.
I haven’t been to any games in ages, and not because I don’t want to.
Working for a local Premier League club means a lot of Saturday’s I’m working there, as much as I would prefer to be watching Witton.
If we want to increase attendances, don’t go criticising the current fans in any way, as that won’t encourage people to go, whether home or away.
Hi Thomas - Which Premier Club ?
Don’t go myself for various reasons, one of them being health.
Give my regards to your dad pls !
I work at Stoke City.
Will do
Oh well you won’t be working for a Premier League club next season then on the evidence of what I saw on Match of the Day on Saturday!
I don’t get to games as often as I like due to family commitments. I was looking forward to the Ashton game the other week as I was free for that one and it was flaming Postponed! Ah Well.
Not bothered whether they are Premier League or Championship, as long as they pay me
I only support one team in red and white stripes, and they play in Cheshire
As I’ve mentioned before in a previous thread, we used to take a Supporters coach to most away games.
One thing that does concern me although I’m not in a position to use the service these days, is the lack of information regarding coach travel to away games in recent years. I can appreciate the thinking that there is every likelihood that demand isn’t there and when coaches are advertised the seats are usually filled before people get to know.
If it was advertised more openly, it might just get the interest and be more beneficial but I understand that it has to be financially viable. I would like to add that this is not a criticism of anyone I’m just putting a suggestion out there.
I don’t think it is the cost of travelling on the coach, its just that people have other things to do on Saturdays. Last Saturdays game at Shaw Lane, I posted on here that I had up to 4 places in my car for anybody who wanted a free lift there and back. I had no takers! I think the biggest problem is that you can watch Premiership games on TV at 15:00hrs via various firesticks and satellite packages like Mag256, without paying the stupid money that SKY and BT charge.
Sutton Coldfield Town, away Saturday December 23. Team Coach leaves the ground at 11:30, £10. Please contact Graham Crouch on 07943148271 to reserve your seat
Televised football has had a major impact on football generally, but particularly in our case with home games. I seem to remember that we’ve tried moving our midweek match nights but such is the case now that television has become saturated with football coverage, it makes little or no difference to what night we play, you’re always battling against it.
It is not just TV and cost that might put people off, it might well be time. I can go to a home game at 2-45pm and be home by 5pm. An away game might mean an 11-30am start and not getting home until gone 8pm.
