Away Travel Grantham Saturday 26th September

We are running a supporters coach to the above leaving the memorial Hall at 10.30, Cost £15 Return!Anyone interested should contact the usual suspects on Saturday or post on here. The away support so far this season has been fantastic, long may it continue,“Come on the Albion!”

You have a rival now Jim - the team coach has 10 places available at £10ph!

Not really Eli, the team coach rarely gets to it’s destination without breaking down on the way!

Powell Executive Transport incorporates sufficient time for pre and post match drinks and the on-board catering on the way back from Lincoln was first class (although perhaps the waitress was a bit ropey)!

On a serious note it is important that away fans support the Development Fund’s away transport activities, a lot of hard work goes into to organising away travel and we need to keep this up, especially given the southerly journeys this season. I’m not saying support the unofficial rather than official operator as fans attendance is most paramount, however the fans put on away travel facilities at every feasible opportunity and therefore supporting them is important!

Usual places for us please James.

On the subject of “Away Travel” I have asked Jim if I can be kept informed anytime there is a coach making the trips so that I can include the information in my “Away Match” features in the programme.

I am conscious of the fact that not every Witton fan has access to the internet and including the information in the programme does give supporters the chance to travel if they wish to.

Also, having two home games in the space of a few days allows everyone to keep up with what is happening especially if they are not able to attend one of the games.

10 people @ £10 per head - How big is the minibus, that the club is using?

Why £10 per head??? - has the club got that much money they can afford to undercut the Dev Fund and run at a loss?

Not really a rival as such - the team wre using a minibus to away games for players only but it has not worked out so they have reverted back to using a coach. There are 10 spaces on the coach at £10 to assist with payment of said coach.

I did use the team coach to Sheffield on Tues but as I have committed myself to Jims Travel I will be giving that priority. On the occasion’s that Jim does not run a bus I will probably use the team coach if available and would urge others to do the same to assist the club with financing the cost.

Whoa! Hang on a minute, its not “Jims travel” its the witton albion supporters bus, Jim is just the name of the daft bugger thats got lumbered (for now!) with organising the away travel on behalf of the development fund. Any profits remaining at the end of the season go to the club. The away travel is designed to act as a service for the supporters who cannot or care not to travel to these new? and distant grounds, its also an attempt to boost the morale and to keep the spirits up(literally in some cases!) of an ever decreasing yet loyal band of travelling fans, and its also a bloody good day out if you include breakfast at the penny black! Like any financial operation though, it does need your support and if you dont use it you will as they say lose it! So now that we have cleared that up would anyone like tickets for “Jims winter ball” on the 19th of December or"Jims fancy dress haloween party" on the 31st of October. Keep smiling!

Jim who ?

I made preliminary enquiries into the possibility of running a “wheelchair accessible coach” or even a “mini-coach” to Grantham on Saturday.

I never imagined that it would prove to be so difficult to organise. The company wanted more or less every detail before they could even quote me a price. How many travelling, how many in wheelchairs, pick-up points, departure and return times.
