Bamber Bridge vs Witton Albion.

Witton travel north up the M6 on Saturday afternoon when they take on promoted Bamber Bridge in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Preston-based club have begun the campaign in good form with five points from their opening three games and remain unbeaten. Last season saw them finish fourth in the First Division North and then gaining promotion to the Premier Division after beating Prescot Cables in the play off final, in front of a four-figure crowd at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium. Witton go into the game in fourth place after accumulating seven points from their first four league games, an excellent return at this early stage. Like the last two games, Witton will be looking to end an opponents unbeaten run following victories against Whitby Town and Nantwich Town, whilst Bamber Bridge will be hoping to build on their positive start. They possess one of the most experienced players at this level in midfielder Jamie Milligan, who spent a number of seasons with Fleetwood Town and his knowledge and ability will surely be of benefit in the Premier Division. Witton’s new players have gelled very well so far and probably sooner than we could’ve expected but they face a tough test as Bamber Bridge only suffered defeat once at home last season. It makes for an interesting afternoon. Kick off at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium is 3pm.
