The travelling in this league is simply daft.

Is that why you’ve switched it so we’re at home?
There are certainly more Midlands clubs. Incidentally, Saturday’s trip to Bedworth will see Witton play on an artificial surface for the second time this season.

Maybe so, but roll your sleeves up and get on with it like everyone else connected to WAFC eh? Just a thought
You know, I sometimes wonder why I bother, I make a simple comment and get insulted. I have a season ticket despite being unable to get to a lot of games and have supported our club for all my seventy years. As for getting on with it like everyone else at WAFC our last home gate was less than three hundred so not EVERYONE at WAFC is getting on with it as you put it. Paul S, you are a first class …

Sorry but where did I insult you? Apologies if you took it that way! Many people (myself included) had a grumble about going into this league at the start of the season (a couple of months ago) what’s the point of doing so now? We’ve got to go to Rushden yet…We’ve just got to get on with it and all get behind the team and management, that’s all I was trying to say!
Okay, but the way you phrased your comment made me think you were having a go. As for the Albs, "ONWARD AND UPWARDS!

Saturday sees Witton travel south to Bedworth United in an Evo-Stik Division One South fixture. The fixture will be the first that the clubs have ever met in the league but, their paths did cross back in the 1980/81 season in an FA Cup Second Qualifying Round match at The Oval a game which Albion won by two goals to one. There is also a connection in this current campaign as “The Greenbacks” present manager, Stuart Storer was a member of the Bolton Wanders team which was given an almighty scare by Witton in front of the “Match of the Day” cameras in 1990 at Wincham Park. Saturday’s game also means Witton will be playing on an artificial surface for the second time this season, following their visit to Romulus earlier in the campaign. Bedworth so far, their season has been a mixture but they are handily placed around mid-table at present. Their FA Cup campaign almost came to a halt recently, when they found themselves 3-0 down at home to neighbours Rugby Town, only to rescue the game late on and then prevailed in the subsequent replay. Witton will be looking to continue their good form and pick up the three points but they will be tested by Bedworth and will have to be on form the get a positive result. Kick off at The Oval is 3pm.

Early team news: Prince Haywood & Anthony Gardner are both available for selection, Billy Reeves could make his final appearance of his initial month’s loan spell whilst Paul Williams will be assessed before the game. Loan striker George Miller is expected to travel with the squad after recovering from illness.
We could really do with keeping Billy Reeves He is just getting back his form and looking sharp, hope Williams is fit too he leads the midfield well and then we have a full strength squad to pick from, we need to win our games in hand now and get back top.
I too hope that Billy stays with us for longer to help us get more points on the board. A win tomorrow would pus us up the league again, so good luck Witton. UTA
