Frickley Athletic 66/1

Interesting odds those, worth a flutter on the Albs and maybe Curzon Ashton which seem good odds, and finally FCU surely to bottle it in the playoffs

How about as many Wittoners as possible putting a few quid on at 33-1 with the players getting half the proceeds if they go up? That would be some incentive!!
WHS.

not sure if that is allowed to be honest. Betvictor has us at 40/1

If the bookies are to be believed, Witton are favourites to be relegated next season.

Having watched the game last Saturday, I think we are capable of a top 3 finish.

Having never been one not to back my own judgement, I have just opened an account with BETVICTOR and placed a £10 E/W bet.

£120 back if they finish in the top 3. £520 back if they finish top.

I think it is only players who cannot place bets but I can see no law banning me from betting and donating some of my winnings to the club, after all most of the big clubs are backed by men who “gamble” on the Stock Market!

iam sure the fa will have a rule against it somewhere. i

I don’t know whether we got discussed on air on the last podcast, but we were definitley talking about it at one point during the evening, and the new FA regulations prohibit anyone associated with a club from betting on any games/competitions in which it is involved in.

That includes a club’s volunteers.

So if you have sold a programme, manned a turnstile, been a steward etc, then you can’t bet on Witton.

Broke that rule last season, do you think the bookie will give me my money back? WHS.

Stupid rule, you should only be banned from betting AGAINST your team, after all you always want your team to win so what is wrong with betting on them to do so? Mind you when football is ruled by Blatter, Platini et al to expect common sense is whistling in the wind.

Robbo what if a volunteers wife, husband, cousin, dog, Aunty Fanny etc put the bet on for them, is that still not allowed? Sounds absolutely bizarre and yet another knee jerk reaction by the FA.

If a group of supporters/volunteers of a football club can’t get together and have a few quid on their team then bookies will struggle to exist. Surely this “new regulation” should apply to all sports across the board, not just football. Rory McIlroys dad and his friends certainly wouldn’t have collected the £50K each last weekend if it did…

I was a steward at WP in the mid 90’s. Are you saying I can’t have a pound on Titch scoring against Chester tomorrow?

I’m not saying anything mate! I’m just passing it on…

Waste your money betting on Spurs to finish top 4 if you want, nowt do with me

Well im going for a spurs and witton double, both top four finish, it’s free money*:pinch:

*I have never been a steward, supporter, volunteer or fan of either Witton Albion or Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. And I don’t know anyone else that is or has been either.
