Bootle FC v. Witton Albion

Witton travel to Merseyside on Saturday afternoon when they take on Bootle in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The Bucks go into the game in thirteenth place in the table, one place below and two points adrift of Ben Harrison’s team so it’s an important game for both teams.

Bootle’s form has been mixed in recent weeks with four wins from their last eight games whilst Albion have followed a similar pattern.

The previous five meetings between the two have seen three games finish all square but Bootle did prevail in the return fixture at the U Lock It Stadium in September by the odd goal in three.

Kenzie O’Neill’s winner separated the two teams following Conor Harwood’s opener for the Bucks and Reece Daly’s penalty got Witton back into the game.

Witton’s cause wasn’t helped by the early dismissal of striker James Hooper and Bootle held on for the points.

Last Saturday’s defeat at Stafford Rangers was a disappointment for everyone and they’ll be wanting to get back to winning ways once again in what will be another difficult game.

Witton remain in twelfth place in the table following today’s game.

Next Saturday we are on our travels once again when we go to Clitheroe in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture for a 3pm kick off.

A worthwhile point from a rather scrappy game. Not helped by the referee not letting the game flow, blowing for many perceived ‘fouls’ that many refs would let go.
Hard to pick a MOM, but a workmanlike performance from the whole team.

A good point away is ok and if we win home games it will be good, all the teams below us lost so talk of relegation is not so strong now.

We should start our work for next season getting our plan in place and working on players for promotion push next season. UTA
