Witton are on the road for the first time in this pre season campaign when they travel to Bootle FC on Tuesday night.
The Bucks will begin the new season playing at their highest level in their history, following their elevation to the Northern Premier League First Division west as a result of the restructuring of the pyramid system and a challenge they will surely relish.
Witton come off the back off two tough games against newly-formed Macclesfield FC and then a strong Crewe Alexandra side and although results weren’t in our favour, getting minutes into the players legs was massively important and gave the management team the chance to run the rule over prospective newcomers to the squad as well as see familiar faces back in action again.
Bootle have so far only played one pre season game, narrowly losing to Barnoldswick Town and will certainly be looking to give a good account of themselves so Witton won’t find them easy opponents.
The game at Berry Street Garage Stadium kicks off at 7.30pm.
