Witton will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they travel to Bootle FC in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture on Tuesday night.
Saturday’s home defeat to Mossley was a disappointment coming on the back of the Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy defeat a week ago but, they have to put that behind them as they go in search of three very important points.
Bootle find themselves alongside Witton at the lower end of the table but will be looking to put a run of games together and climb the table.
Two familiar faces will be in the Bootle dugout as the Bucks have recently appointed former Albion defender Steve McNulty as their manager, assisted by Carl Macauley who departed the U Lock It Stadium following Witton’s relegation àt the end of last season.
Carl had done an excellent job during his time with Witton but sadly, his final season proved to be one of great disappointment for everyone but we wish him well.
There doesn’t appear to have been any previous league meetings between the two clubs in the past but they did meet in an FA Challenge Trophy Second Qualifying Round tie at Bootle during the 1978/79 season, with Witton coming out on top in a 3-0 win.
The two sides also met before the start of last season in a pre season friendly which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Bootle’s last game saw them lose narrowly and agonisingly 1-0 at home to Workington at the weekend, with the goal coming in the last few minutes of the game.
Witton will face a tough test from the Bucks and will need to perform at their best to get the right result.
Kick off at Berry Street Garage Stadium is 7.45pm.

Any updates on injuries? Prince will be suspended but Koral, Tinning & Williams carrying knocks into the game is a worry to say the least!
I would not mind seeing us play 5 3 2 with our squad, 3 good centre backs, good wing backs, we have plenty of midfielders to fill the 3 but only 2 strikers with Igoe injured!
Please don’t put Ben in centre mid that caused too much trouble on Saturday and we never recovered really. UTA

Currently bottom four. Hope we can turn that around pronto!
Our league position is worrying and odd given we have been playing pretty good football. I think more than anything it’s a lack of a strike partner for Duckworth.
The young lad from Accrington doesn’t seem to have the attributes we need.
