Sorry I meant Blacks pace was awesome !!!
did witton play well Because I know this will sound daft but, they have looked awesome, sometimes, without doing it this season. does that sound daft???/
My body has been warm all day what with the roaring fire and the whisky, but this result warmed my heart too. One win does not make a season but after the last two months this can only be the start of an improvement in our fortunes. It would appear that Mr. Finley knows what he is doing. Some have expressed the opinion that he is not a very approachable sort of guy. Well personally I don’t care if he never says a word to me or any other supporters as long as he gets results. KEEP THE FAITH!!!
WHS.
I am usually over the moon with a result. I am usually ecstatic with a great performance.
TODAY WE GOT BOTH!!!
Great climax
The rendition of Jingle Bells at the end of the game was brilliant!
Oh my god:ohmy: just got in from work expecting to see the usual moans on here after another heavy defeat and im rubbing my eyes in disbelief!! we won:ohmy: great news just wish i could of been there today…worth a beer or two now to celebrate:laugh:
Thats 2 climaxs in 2 days Jeff - steady old boy:laugh:

great results, lets hope its the start of a long awaited run.
KFC.
after everything we have seen this season, this really was a different level - an accomplished performance from back to front. this result was never in doubt
Superb effort through all the team and they never stopped working.
Start believing we can get out of this mess !!
Bradford Park Avenue 0 Witton Albion 2
Goals either side of half time earned Witton their first league points since the beginning of September!
Albion boss Gary Finlay has new signings Black and Booth to thank for catching out Bradford’s sleeping defence.
Debutant Neil Black, signed in the week from Colwyn Bay, crowned a superb debut to fire Witton into the lead just before the break. A solo run on the right of the box was capped by a cool finish past the advancing Jon Worsnop.
Witton should already have been ahead by this point, Worsnop felled Lee Thompson on the half hour however the former Albion keeper made a good stop from striker’s softly hit penalty.
Five minutes after the restart Albion deservedly doubled their advantage. Donnelly’s in-swinging free kick from the right was delivered perfectly into the six-yard box, where the unmarked Paul Booth met the ball and forced it over the line.
Avenue’s attempts to get back into the game were confidently dealt with by Witton’s backline, with skipper Brian Pritchard and defensive partner Booth both standing firm in front of Smith.
Remarkably Witton came close to adding a third late on when Mark Smyth hit the left upright, a goal that would have further confirmed their dominance on the day.
Match rating; 4/5
MOM; Neil Black
Goals: Neil Black 41, Paul Booth 50
It’s good to read their match report and see
“embarrassing defeat”
“crash to a humiliating defeat”
“veteran visiting defender Brian Pritchard was rarely asked to break sweat”
Bring on Ilkeston, anyone for a double?
First win in what seems like an aeon,I don’t want to raise my hopes too much.
One game at a time and every game a final.
‘Softly softly catchee monkey’, as Charlie chan said.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS, COME ON WITTON.:cheer:
They may be moaning about their own performance - but don’t let it take anything away from the way we played.
For the first time this season we looked like a team with heart, passion and purpose. Definitely something to build on here.
That is two wins on the bounce, even if the first one was a crappy performance against a load of “Sunday Leaguers” so technically we are “on a roll”. Long may it continue!!! KEEP THE FAITH!!!
WHS.
PS More to the point, how is the fundraising going? WE can only get and keep good players if we have the cash. I will drop off my ususl tenner sometime this week as my new boiler is not being put in until early next year!!

Awesome performance and also a great turn out of Witton fans. Played very well, fully deserved the win. As a few other people have said we played well as a team and also thought having Black’s pace up front gave us another option. Dunne was excellent but then again I thought the whole team played well.
My MOM had to be Black tough call between him and Dunne.
Jingle Bells Jingles Bells…
Just to supplement Rabbits’ match report, this is what I think of the teams individual performance:
Greg Smith
Had his quietist game so far, thanks to the men in front of him.
Gary Scott
Back to his professional self, not much got past him. He supported Kieran Lugsden
down the right, and played some great passes up the wing.
Paul Booth
His pace and awareness gave our defence some purpose. He did well stooping very low down to score the 2nd goal.
Brian Pritchard
Late on, when the game was won, Pritch threw himself at Mark Betts’ feet to stop him from having a shot. Pritch ended up with stud marks right up his back and on his arm, which broke the skin. This just summed up his game! BPA’s Chairman Man of the Match.
James Olsen
Got injured during the warm-up. Despite being on the team sheet, did not play.
Paul Donnelly
A very solid performance despite having to mark Rory Patterson, BPA’s best player.
John Moore
A very solid and workmanlike performance from John, who is slowly building up his match fitness. Substituted by Mark Drew with 20 minutes to go.
Kieran Lugsden
He is improving with every match since his comeback from a broken arm. His confidence seems to be back, as again and again he left Matthew Morgan trailing behind him.
Ashley Dunn
Was the main instigator of some fantastic passing movements. He has come to us with a glowing report from Mark Peers. BPA’s Sponsors, and Peter Riley’s Man of the Match
Neil Black
His pace produced 4 one on ones with Jon Worsnop, in the 1st half alone, scoring one of them. My Man of the Match
Lee Thompson
Never stopped fighting, and persevered to break through into the penalty area, only to be brought down by Jon Worsnop. Why was Jon not sent off, a question the referees’ assessor was also asking? Jon should not have been on the pitch to save Lee’s penalty.
Mark Smyth
Mark was my 2nd choice for Man of the Match, making himself available for the ball out of defence, and giving Darren Hockenhull a bit of a roasting with his trickery and pace.
Mark Drew
Most probably Marks’ best 20 minutes of football, as he warmed to the general improvement of play all round.

Spot on Doc, this is only the start of the process, there is lots of work to be done but plenty of encouraging sings from the way we played yesterday.
The simple truth is that if we play like that every week then we would be nearer the top than the bottom.
We have to build on a first eleven and over time follow a one in/one out policy of replacing any weak links in the team with a better player.
Great start to the turnaround.
If any player deserves our support it is Pritch. If we ever do move to a new stadium I sincerely hope it is named after him. His loyalty in a world where there is precious little, is to be commended.

Hear hear.!:cheer:
Couldn’t agree more the ‘Brian Pritchard Enclosure’ would be very fitting - we even have a flag ready for the official opening!
Of course Pritch will hate the very mention of the idea, which is a mark of the man whose only focus is performing at 100% for this football club.
