I thought we should stop commenting on these idiots that are leaving now. If they want to go for money let them go at the end of the day, they didnt get us where we wanted to go which was Blue Square North! When it came to the knitty gritty they BOTTLED IT! And that aspect of their character will not change when they go to their new clubs.Likes of Altrincham and Droylesden have reached the pinnacle of what they will ever achieve. They should have stayed and put it right next season but they dont care about the fans that cared about them. Screw them and Jim Vince especially for orchestrating some of these moves, when the fans gave JV so much support he stabbed them in the back.
I want to pay tribute to one man who has stuck with the club through thick and thin - Brian Pritchard! He has been a true professional, a true Wittoner and he is Witton Albion Football Club. We will go up next year, for Nige, for the fans, but mostly for Brian Pritchard.
He looks at the forum so lets use this thread to show our appreciation for his fantastic loyalty to the club.
Lets give the team all the support we can this season and forget the nightmare last few months.
And for those players thinking about leaving look at Pritch…wouldnt you like to have so much respect from the fans at your club…and there are no better fans in the non-league than The Albion!
I could barely name 2 or 3 players from other teams in this league but everybody knows Pritch! Some of these lads could only dream to achieve the respect that he commands at our club. Pritch’s status at the club is certainly something that a former manager couldn’t deal with (same could be said with Mike Moseley to be honest). Onwards and upwards now, forget the players that have left, some have gone about it right and some have gone about it completely wrong but either way they are no longer Witton players.
Pritch is an icon and I have nothing but admiration and greatest of respects for the lad.
I think we should start a “Brian Pritchard trophy” as a local annual derby against either the arabs or may be Winsford FC in Brian’s honour.
He is a true son of Witton Albion.
I think Jeff (Thatched Tavern) is bang on not just a fantastic footballer and servant but as a man he’s a role model too. When my lad was starting to play football as a youth his hero the the player he most wanted to be like was “Pritch”. He used to play a bit like him too. All his mates wanted to be Cantona, or some other superstar of the day but Nick always stuck with Pritch as his role model. I’m proud that he did but I’m even prouder in fifty years association with the club that I’ve seen a lot of legends play for the club but Pritch is top of the tree for me and that is going some with the likes of Alf Ashley, Ken Barnes, Dave Carrick, Keith Higgins, etc, etc. Well done Pritch its not mere words in your case its from the heart mate honestly!!
