The ESP Football Academy season nears its conclusion on Monday when Witton’s Academy team travel to Brighouse Town in their penultimate Northern Division fixture. The campaign has been a challenge which the students have found extremely difficult but they will have learned so much in that period and like everything else, they have had their programme disrupted by the Covid pandemic. They go into Monday’s game in West Yorkshire on the back of five successive defeats and having won only once this season, face another tough test as Brighouse look to complete the double over the Albion following a comfortable 6-1 victory in the return game at Sandbach Community Football Centre earlier in the campaign. The game is being played at The Yorkshire Payments Stadium with a 12pm kick off and is being played behind closed doors due to the current Covid restrictions.
