oh well. bit of breathing space would of been nice, but you cant have everything!

Watch out the mighty Cod’s cometh!!!
Well that was a wasted trip, what a truly awful game of football!
Buxton - no heart, no passion, no quality, no urgency, no desire… I could go on!
Fleetwood - not an awful lot better to be honest. They got the break on 56 minutes and never looked threatened after that (the first effort on goal for both teams was in the 56th minute!).
How on earth the cods beat us so comprehensively I’ll never know!
One thing to note, there were 16 Fleetwood fans in attendance tonight, make of that what you will!
A traveling Witton contingent at the Buxton game nearly outnumbered the traveling cods - there were a paltry 16 away supporters for a game involving the second and fourth teams in the league.
It was a very poor game of football which lacked any real quality. Fleetwood deserved to win but only the basis they were not as bad as Buxton - neither were good! Fleetwood had a couple of free kicks towards the end of the first half however were lucky to still have 10 men on the pitch after a shocking tackle for which the ref only produced a yellow. Buxton came out the better for the first 10 minutes of the second half and should have taken the lead but failed to convert a cross the fizzed across the six yard box.
Fleetwood scored against the run of play with a shot across the keeper and into the far corner, nothing special. They followed it up with another scrappy goal as the home side capitulated. Buxton had a go at coming back at them but there was no quality on offer at all, you could not see where they would get a goal from. Fleetwood perhaps should have scored a third when they had a clear opportunity for one of their strikers in front of goal 18 yards out.
It was possibly one of the worst games of football seen for a while which leads to the following points; a) we have to get out of this league, b) we are incredibly fortunate to witness the quality of football we have the season, c) our supporters are without doubt the best in the Unibond League, d) if we don’t go up there really will be no justice in the world and e) how the hell did we lose so comprehensively to Fleetwood on Bank Holiday Monday (we must have had our eyes closed - which frankly I wish I had done tonight)! If Fleetwood play as they did tonight I cannot see them winning the other two away games in hand - tonight they faced extremely poor opposition.
We MUST win our remaining games to avoid the indignity of not going up in favour of challengers that in football terms are so far behind us.

…but clearly didn’t ‘go-eth’ to Buxton!!! Probably busy watching united on the telly, frankly you made the right choice based upon how appallingly bad you were tonight. Buxton may have well given you the points to save your kit man from having to wash the kits, I don’t think Hurst got even his gloves dirty tonight.
Judging by the comments on the Fleetwood forum (most of which are from people who weren’t at the game), and the comments copied from the Buxton forum, we must be harsh critics!
Maybe it’s the quality that we’ve become used to most weeks!

16 fans, what a joke.I support united and witton, but if it was a choice between watching united on telly or a Witton away i know where i’d be. Shows on that bank holiday monday they only came to see the Albion! Please Jim get us out of this joke league. At least if they were that poor they aint lookin like a team that is gonna go on and win 6 straight. And even if they do we will hav won all 4.
Hope them cods enjoy the play offs:P
Explains why there were not more there last night…
