Buxton vs Witton Albion.

Witton make the trip to the Peak District on Saturday, when they take on Emirates FA Challenge Cup heroes Buxton in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.

The Bucks have done the Northern Premier League proud with their cup exploits this season and have a lucrative home tie against League One side Morecambe in a week’s time.

Witton look to bounce back from last Saturday’s home defeat to Bamber Bridge, but they face a tough test against a Buxton side who remain unbeaten at home although Albion’s record at Buxton in the past is reasonable having won on three of their last seven visits.

The Bucks are now under the management of former Albion midfielder Steve Cunningham, who also spent time managing Colne FC and Curzon Ashton before taking up the Buxton hotseat.

One player who has moved on from the U Lock It Stadium albeit on a temporary basis is, George Nugent who has joined Prescot Cables in order to get more playing time and we will look forward to welcoming him back in the near future.

Striker Callum Saunders achieved the goalscoring record for the club last weekend with his tenth goal in nine successive league games and that was the only bright spot for the Albion on a disappointing and emotional day but hopefully, he can continue in that vain.

Another difficult game can be expected but hopefully Witton can perform at their best and bring the points home.
