Buxton vs Witton Albion.

Witton face another tough game on Tuesday night when they travel to the Peak District to take on title-chasing Buxton in a Northern Premier League Premier Division fixture.

The game has been postponed twice due to the weather and now comes in what is a hectic month for the Albion as they battle to get away from the relegation zone.

Two wins from their last three away fixtures at Ashton United and Grantham Town respectively, have given Witton a chance of getting out of trouble but, they will need to be at the best in order to get anything from the game.

The Bucks currently sit second and one point behind leaders South Shields, having won ten of their sixteen home league games so far and have the most prolific attack in the division but Albion have won on the artificial pitch at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium before so know that they can achieve results if they perform.

A familiar face to many Albion fans, Steve Cunningham took charge during their Emirates FA Cup run in which they were able to showcase their talents in front of the television cameras against Morecambe, a game in which they performed admirably despite losing by the only goal and were a credit to the Northern Premier League.

The form of strikers Diego De Girolamo and Jamie Ward has been pivotal to the Bucks success this season and they will need watching very carefully but then Witton’s Callum Saunders will also be a threat to the Buxton defence and could have a big part to play, if Albion are to come away with the right result.

Kick off at Tarmac Silverlands Stadium is 7.45pm.
