Witton make the journey into the High Peak District on Saturday afternoon when they travel to in-form Buxton in an Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture. The Bucks are currently eighth in the table and in are in a reasonable amount of form particularly in front of their own fans. Having finished last season in ninth place, they are looking to improve on that and their home form has been pivotal to that aim so far. From the seven league games played so far on their newly-installed 3G pitch, they have won five and only suffered one defeat against a resurgent Lancaster City. However, they did bow out of the Buildbase FA Challenge Trophy in midweek following a replay with Stalybridge Celtic. Away from the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium they have found results more difficult to come by although six of their games on the road have finished all square. The form of striker Liam Hardy is central to Buxton’s ambitions and the Witton defence will certainly be tested but then, they have been difficult to breach in recent weeks. A familiar face to Witton fans in the Buxton ranks could possibly be Tolani Omotola, who has joined the Bucks in recent weeks from Coalville Town. Witton will be looking to put on a performance and start a winning run particularly, as they have a really big Trophy game on the horizon next week so will look to go into that buoyed by a positive result. Buxton are always tough opponents and this game will be no different. Kick off at Tarmac Silverlands Stadium is 3pm.
