I’ve been sent this important information from Secretary Graham Shuttleworth and thought it deserving of its own thread.
"With there being no obvious immediate improvement in the weather conditions, Witton Albion have agreed with their Boxing Day visitors, Cammell Laird, that if the game is postponed, then they would try again 48 hours later on Monday 28 December. Kick-off would remain at 3pm.
Manager Gary Finley said: “It’s frustrating not knowing if we are likely to play at the weekend, so I’m grateful to my opposite number at Cammell Laird’s, Alex Hey, for being so readily agreeable to putting the game back to Monday should the need arise.”
An inspection, should one be needed, will take place at Wincham Park on Saturday morning, and a decision should be known by 10.45. Supporters are urged that where possible, to look at the website for an update on the morning of the match."
Whilst it may seem obvious to most you always seem to get some daft comments when games are off!
There has been a lot of ice on the pitch, and I dont mean just a frozen pitch. This will hopefully thaw as it heats up a little over the weekend but we will then have to contend with the drainage issue! (so just because the lawn has no snow on it doesnt mean WP is playable althought Winsford was 2 years ago!!!)
The other issue today which no one probably will have considered but actually getting to WP would have been dangerous! Getting on and off the rock solid frozen car park and up the small hill is harder than you might think!
As already noted it has given it quite cold for the weekend so watch this space.
Myself or Chad will be posting any announcements from the club over the next couple of days.
A further update for people, all the ice etc has now pretty much cleared from the ground however waterlogging is now the problem especially if we get more rain overnight. There was some surface water which the ground staff were hoping to remove.

I believe there was an inspection planned yes but have as yet not received any news.
Apparently the rentboys and Alty has pp there games due to a frozen pitch though already.
so that I can get to the game!! Will we be on there are still alot of frozen pathways out there!!??
