CARL MACAULEY

I have just seen on the Chester Chronicle site that Carl is on the shortlist for the managers job at Chester. I for one hope that we can keep him. in order to do so everyone should post on here in support of Carl and his team, They have done a fantastic job and things can get better for us with Carl and company taking us forward.

Can’t see it myself and it would cost them.

Chester are already relegated as well so it would hardly be a huge step up.
Who knows we might even be in the same league as them yet!!

If Carl is offered the Chester job, I am sure he would take it! Potential league club and massive wage and budget increase. However much he is liked and respected here and we dont want to lose him . Who else was on the list ? UTA

Gary Brabin, Billy Heath, Paul Carden, Andy Holden & Shaun Reid.

Be interesting to know if that is Chester’s wish list or if all those candidates actually have applied. Given how played against Chester last year, it won’t have been lost on some folks what a good manager Carl is.

Those are the names mentioned in the article but that doesn’t mean anything. Chester are in a financial mess, just been relegated and management and board members stepping down, releasing players, dwindling crowds. Are they even going to survive in the future? Nobody can answer that question until the time comes.

Anyone would be mad to take the Chester job, they are a club in absolute turmoil and as for a league club no way.

“Witton Albion chairman Mark Harris last week stated that they would resist any attempt from Chester to prize Carl Macauley away from Wincham Park. And Harris looks set to get his wish for his boss to remain with Macauley understood not to have entered the reckoning.”

HOT OFF THE PRESS Just seen this on the Chester Chron website 50 mins ago. If this is true then its great news and a big thank you to Carl and CO for staying with us. Lets hope it is true!!

Endorse everything that’s been said on here and elsewhere.

Carl has unfinished business here. He is still young enough to move on to bigger (not necessarily better!) things later in his career.

We’ve had a good season and I’m sure he can see the potential of a serious promotion challenge next season.

So, come on Carl, Onwards and Upwards with the Albion!
