Understand we are at home to Tranmere Rovers as we defend our well earned trophy this time around. Have heard it could be scheduled for Tuesday September 12th. The date we had down to be at home to Ashton Utd + the match Frank Fidler is coming to.<br><br>However have noticed that their 1st team also have a league match that evening whilst their Reserves are due to play on the Wednesday. Knowing how League Clubs can manipulate the competition dates then will be interesting to see when the match gets played.<br><br>We ain’t played Rovers competitively since 1984 when they beat us at the Central Ground 2-0 when they sent their 1st team down as their scheduled match at Wrexham had been called off. We played well that afternoon with the 2 goals coming in the final 4 minutes of the match. Barrie Wellings & Ronnie Goodlass netting for them.<br><br>So great chance to get our own back.
