Looking good!
Incidentally, Trafford the only team to beat us in pre season now have a goal difference of +15 after two league games.
Brilliant result! The two opening results have certainly showed the other teams in the league that were not to be underestimated! Lets hope we can continue putting together good results like this.
Just got back from the game and I’m still buzzing! Get in!
First-half we were all over them, we probably should have been 3-0 up at half-time. The second goal seemed to have killed the game off but once they pulled one back we were on the back foot for the last 25 minutes. A brilliant show of fight and determination.
Six points from the first two games is a fantastic return, hopefully we will add three more at Worksop on Saturday.
40-1, oh ye of little faith!!!
WHS.
Chorley’s PA announcer was their best performer on the night, just edging the ref
Absolutely fantastic start to the season well done lads bowdown UTA
brilliant result, well done to the players. also well done to the management, they obviously got the tactics right. just watch this team go, we are going places, just as i said last seeason. this team now has the confidence to go for it big style so let’s really get behind the team when fc united come to town.
Well done lads an absolute joy to watch. Wave after wave of attacking football in first half. Should have been 4-0 up at half time. Credit to chorley getting back into it last 20 mins but we stood firm! Exciting times to be a wittoner absolutely buzzin UTA
Anyone fancy a trip to Worksop , is it still shorter than a trip to Stafford? If yes then tell all V***s fans to come and watch the towns number one team
eeeeeeee a night match at Chorley, what humdingers they’ve been in the past and how often did we get overrun but not this time. Absolutely terrific performance all round :clap :clap :clap
Were they expecting a 1,000 gate did I read? Wouldn’t have been 500 without the mighty Albs presence.
… To be continued at Sandy Lane on Saturday pppppppppppllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssseeeeeeeeee
WOW! Wasn’t expecting to wake up to read this if Iam being totally honest, but what a great way to start my day :clap
Echo everything that has been said above - scintillating first half performance with superb movement throughout the team and should have converted more chances and been out of sight!
Second half great resolve and a deserved win over the 90 minutes.
Full credit to the lads, they have obviously put the work in pre-season to get their fitness levels to those shown last night.
Great vocal support as well last night.
One game at a time and a second win of the season to be savoured!

Wow, what a great 3 points. Witton were superb in the first half. It was like watchin a premiership game on the telly! We defended well, attacked in numbers and with pace and should have been 4 up. Credit to their groundstaff, their pitch was top notch, just as we like it! All of our players were a credit to Witton but if I had to single two out it would be our full backs. Team GB should have had them at the Olympice to represent us in the 100 meters to give Bolt a run for his money. I would love to see Matt Woods and Gards have a 100 m race but wouldn’t like to bet on who would win! (Maybe a bit of pre match entertainment). I know one thing it would be quick! Jokin apart they were both excellent (as was everyone). We had to soak up some pressure in the second half but I suppose that was expected. Thats seems to be where the steel is. Ben and Boothy were rocks (their forwards were a handful) and Anthony Sheenan seemed to adopt a more defensive role as the game progressed.Shaun Tuck must have covered every blade of grass 100 times over! I didn’t think that the referee gave us much at all. He seemed to be very quick to blow up against us. We should have scored right at the wire but all in all what a fantastic night. Full credit to all involved. SBL
Excellent, Superb, wonderful, fantastic, what a team we have. Thought the 1st half was some of the best football I’ve seen us play ever. We should have been out of sight 4 nil up.Credit the whole team but I thought the two fullbacks and Josh Hancock and Danny Andrews were superb Chorley’s defence could n’t cope with their pace and workrate. Tuck and Stotty worked so hard, and then when we went defensive for the last 20 minutes Boothy and Ben ably assisted by Sheehan, Rory and Josh Glover kept them out. The only complaint I’ve got it perhaps we should have converted more of the chances we made but hey ho at least we are making them and we can only get better at this. The miss at the end was a bit comical and would have made the scoreline reflect the game more.
Bit dissapointed with Chorley who tended to go for the big boot down the middle thought they might play better football but obviously a team with power who will be up there challenging and with Foster in their midst they will always score goals. I’ll bet their wage bill is 3 times ours and I bet MrFlitcroft is a dissapointed man this morning. We must be on our toes when the return match is played in a couple of weeks time as they will be well motivated to come and try and beat us.
Its early doors yet to start talking promotion and winning the league. We need to guard against complacency the only thing that can beat us is ourselves. Its a wonderful start so lets keep it going. Saturday is a new challenge away to Worksop but knowing these bunch of lads they’ll rise to the occassion.
Onward and Upward with the only team in Northwich
Great performance all round! A very savvy tactical substitution bringing glover on stopped them getting in behind when we were under pressure. First half was probably the best I’ve ever seen a witton side play brilliant stuff. Our support last night was also great.

Is Glover starting to graduate from bit-part player to an integral part of the squad? Pritch obviously places huge trust in him by asking him to fill such a vital role last night (think he filled a similar role at Warrington last season?).
Having a young lad that can fill so many different positions is a massive bonus. I think he will be a huge asset this year.
