Witton face another massive game on Saturday afternoon when they travel to City of Liverpool FC in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.
The Purps are currently struggling at the bottom of the table and have yet to win on home soil after eleven league games - four draws and seven defeats.
A big downturn in form this time around after making the play offs at the end of last season, where they pipped Albion on the final day.
Witton go into the game still in the bottom four, but will have been boosted by last weekend’s victory against fellow strugglers Wythenshawe Town and a similar result is much needed this time around.
City of Liverpool have made a change in their management team in recent weeks with former Prescot Cables boss Kevin Lynch taking over from Paul McNally and have seen changes in their squad with a number of senior players departing but, their results haven’t shown much improvement to date.
Witton have had to add to their squad this week with the signing of Damola Sotona from Trafford, who can play in a number of different positions and will hopefully give them something different.
Unfortunately, Albion will have to continue without the services of midfielder Kyle King for the foreseeable future due to confirmation that his injury will see him out long-term as he awaits surgery.
The festive period sees games come in a short space of time and with tough fixtures against Nantwich Town and Runcorn Linnets to come, this is the perfect opportunity for Witton to pick up three crucial points in the fight against relegation but there are no guarantees.
The game is being played at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes with a 3pm kick off.
