Club and Shaun Tuck Statement

http://www.wittonalbion.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=754:test&catid=111&Itemid=473

Reassuring to read that Shaun Tuck doesn’t consider himself to be a supporter of hate group the EDL.

I would however suggest that he unfollows said organisation on Twitter, to avoid any potential accusations of his apology being anything other than 100% sincere.

Some people will never let this go :frowning:

Some posts on here recently are of a minority who seem to be a type of person waiting or looking to be offended . Hanging on every word and every move, waiting for a slip up , no hoping for a slip up. Waiting to say that line from Alan partridge , "Needless to say I had the last laugh " Look if you still have a problem go see Shaun face to face ,he’s open to talk with you stop posting negatives and gossip ! And get behind the club !!!

I would hope that if he’s posting inflammatory comments on Facebook, sufficient to cause people to fear to attend the match tomorrow, that someone takes a screenshot of it, and forwards it to the police, pronto. Because I would have thought that it’s violation of his probation.

That way, if he gets banged up again, the club can at least perhaps gracefully admit that they’ve made a mistake, and do the right thing…

If he’s following the EDL on Twitter, as Robbo says, then it makes a mockery of his whole backdated “apology”. Sorry, the board, and the manager, looks like you’ve been mugged on this one…

get over it lurker

Oh ffs this is bloody stupid now! first of all Tuck hasnt used his twitter account for months!
How the hell has he put us in danger with his facebook comment??? firstly hes only saying hes not going to react to the fc fans attempts at winding him up and mentions the fact that he gets abuse on a daily basis
and secondly how has he put fans in danger with those comments?? its Facebook so only his friends can read those comments and i doubt he has any fc fans on his friends list!
Thirdly, those anti tuck wittoners now not going tomorrow will not be missed! if you dont cheer Wittons goal on Saturday your lack of support is hardly going to be noticed!

Your post should end “in my opinion” as that is all it is, is your opinion. An opinion some will agree with and some won’t.

There’s so many factually incorrect statements in your post but you have not taken the time to check out the facts just like you have not taken the time to speak to anyone from the club before making up your mind.

Collect all the facts and then you will be armed with everything you need to make an informed opinion.

Hear hear!! As much as I didn’t agree with Tucks twitter comments, and never will, the board has made a decision and I will stand by that, I’ve said all along I would do whichever way it went. But by not celebrating Tucks goals and going as far suggesting boycotting games will only cause irreparable damage to the club long term. Shaun Tucks comments were his PERSONAL COMMENTS, they were not that of Witton Albion Football Club, its board or any of its supporters. If you don’t want to support the club in anyway going forward that’s fair enough, but don’t suggest to others that have loved the club all their lives to do the same.

FC fans have seen it and it doesn’t take anything to wind them up. I didn’t celebrate on Saturday, I also looked around the ground others also didn’t celebrate, some walked away and others didn’t come to the game. It’s all about individual choice which is down to the individual no one else.

Spot on!

Exactly. If you or anyone else don’t want to celebrate a goal or walk away that’s your choice entirely. I will be in the sector that does celebrate and won’t walk away because of the fact I love WAFC and becuase I respect the boards decision. Again, my decision.

The only way FC fans have seen it is because a so called Witton fan pasted it on their Twitter site and said ‘hey fcum fans take a look at this!!’ and then they have joined the im not going because its not safe! well maybe if you dont wave the red flag to the bull in the first place eh…

i for one back the boards decision, i will also be going tomorrow and most other witton games. why because i am a true witton fan, and i will support them till the day i die- that is how much this club means to me. mark and the board do what they think is best for the club, they haven’t done a bad job so far. so please stop all thisdivisive talk and unite as one and back mark and the board, together with the management and players , and move this club forward.

In my opinion the extreme support that Tuck is getting from a small element of our support is doing as much damage as any negative comments/thoughts that people are posting. I’ve no problem with the club, the manager, the chairman, or even the player (despite not agreeing in any way shape or form to his tweets) but would like to see things move on. Both excessively lauding the player or being overly critical are having a negative impact on OUR CLUB and will continue to draw attention to the issue going forward. Some fans won’t like the decision, some fans will be fine, some fans will be on the fence and everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but it’s how we move forward together as a club that is important.

I’m sure lessons have been learnt from this whole sorry affair and I certainly don’t envy the board or Pritch for the position that they have been put in.

See you at Bury - UTA

Having read the apology then for me that’s it done and dusted, I accept the apology and am more than happy for Shaun to continue wear the Red & White and hopefully continue to bang in the goals. I trust our club in the decision that they have made 100%.

If people aint happy then go and have a sit down with Shaun and have a chat about things, he has made the offer so what are you waiting for??

I have been a WAFC supporter all my life (37years) and will be for the rest of my life (??years)

I for one would have no problem celebrating a Shaun Tuck winner - period :goal

Well said that man…
I am going to stop commenting on this forum as it’s winding me up too much, i even dreamt about it last night!!
We all have our own views but maybe putting them on a public forum is not in the best interest of the club, we have an information meeting on Wed night and i suggest we use this to vent anger and frustration and get any questions answered.
Im waiting for someone to pull me up and say that this is exactly what the forum is about but its not healthy and as i have read on non league zone today other teams fans are reading this forum and loving seeing us as a split fanbase!
I have strong feelings on this matter but i will no longer comment on the Tuck situation, come to the meeting tomorrow night or have a chat with Shaun as he has asked.
See you all tonight UTA

My feeling exactly.
WHS.

I would like to apologise for my first comment. I was misinformed about the FC united fans reaction, should have checked first before posting. I’ve asked to have the comment removed. Would also like to apologise if my comment has put people off going, like I said I was misinformed not that its an excuse. I now look a right div! Needless to say I won’t be making that mistake again. Hope the lads put in a good performance for the travelling faithful.
