Witton’s Youth team climbed to fifth in the North West Youth Alliance First Division table, following a 3-2 away victory at Colne FC on Sunday afternoon.

Witton started well but Colne went 1 up after 10 minutes against the run of play. Witton however equalised within 5 mins - the Colne keeper saving a shot from Robbie Hatton but forward Joe Salter was on hand and slotted the rebound. HT 1-1

Witton went 2-1 up in second half when Ellis Carter chased down the full back who gave a poor pass to the Colne stopper who couldn’t get there and Carter steered in from a tight angle.

Colne equalised when Joe Walker who was excellent throughout saved well but the ball fell to a Colne player who made no mistake. Minutes later Joe Walker made a great double save to keep things level and this was to prove a pivotal moment.

In the 75th minute Robbie Hatton got the winner. Taking the ball just outside the box he made space and fired into the corner to put the visitors 3-2 up. The Youth team saw the game out comfortably.
