Commercial Opportunities

Replaces the old ‘concerns’ thread as the place to discuss/promote new ideas!

Hi All,
just a quick reminder of Workparty Monday night meeting. 7.30pm all are welcome to attend Venue, Our social club. Cheers Wayne Peach

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to make it tonight, but am working on some of the ideas for the website. Looking in to the idea of web entries for the predictions competition, and also working on setting up an online shop, amongst other things.

Sounding Good!

Noticed this on Worksop’s site.

They offer sponsorship of the team bus for away games, not a bad idea. This would cost the club nothing and may even make a few quid!

Hi Greg_7, great idea, we are working on a sponsor for the coach for the full season. Cheers Wayne Peach

Vics are looking at doing the following…

"But we are looking at a few things already. For example, the possibility of running a free bus from the town centre to the ground on match day. Another is to approach Vale Royal Borough Council with a view to having some sort of signage or boards around the borough to advertise games and raise awareness of what is happening here."

We need to be on our toes now, there is going to be a lot of publicity going their way whether we like it or not unfortunately.

To be fair we have tried the bus thing in the past but very few took up the opportunity even when we were getting crowds of 800+ as for the signage the council stung us for a few quid when we put road signs up and I’m sure any other boards etc would have to be paid for

Yeah, understand that Picko. Was really just making the point that although things are picking up for us on the commercial front, we really need to be on our toes because of what is happening on the dark side!

Hi Greg_7, Have taken on board all your points. The Comm Workparty are all working very hard and have made some massive strides forward you will only have to see the boxing day Programme to see that, We have our short term goals and are also working hard on the long term relationships with our local business community so the we have a strong foundation for the Clubs future. we are curently sprinting and running a marathon at the same time. You keep us on our toes .cheers Wayne Peach

Is there an opportunity to make some extra money out of attracting sponsors & advertisers for the televised game on 16th January ? I presume it will be going out on the World Wide Web so we should be able to attract some quite big names !

Only ethical companies need apply though…

Hi Eligorton, Will be pushing for the best deal possible, any local suggestions welcome ? Cheers Wayne Peach

I had provisionally mentioned to GE about the Supporters Team sponsoring the Leek match. WOuld expect a more lucrative sponsor can be found now that the game is being broadcast.

Coca Cola, Shell, Manchester Airport!!!

Back to ideas, I have just been looking at Buxtons website and they have a small link to a poster advertising the next home game, maybe an idea for us so we can print copys off and pin them up at work/pub etc?

Came across this this link whilst looking at Warrington’s website;
