Commercial Update; January 2008

Witton Albion Commercial Activity Notes; January 2008

Following the announcement at the AGM of Wayne Peach’s offer to co-ordinate and progress commercial activities within the Club, Wayne immediately set up a work party of volunteers to help and advise him. The group of around 12 people, including representation from the Club’s Board, have so far met monthly to pool ideas and to check progress.

Noted successes include achieving full match sponsorships for all home league games, almost all players/management team now backed for kit sponsoring, various social functions being organised, and specific matches targeted with complimentary tickets to local businesses. The latter having contributed to the good Ilkeston gate for example (470 attendance), with the added benefits of increased bar sales.

Discussions are also being held with potential Ground and Board advertising sponsors, with activity focused on the remainder of this season and the next.

With the Club being determined to win promotion this season, we need all the help that we can muster for this year and, more important, to learn how to go about it for the even greater effort that will be needed in a higher league.

Anybody with ideas and/or time to volunteer to help is welcome to join in. Don’t be shy, come and share your thoughts and ideas.

The next meeting is Monday 11th of February at 7.30 p.m. in the Board Room.

Further social events, commercial projects and new initiatives will be announced both on the message board and in the match programme over the next few weeks.
