Congleton Town v. Witton Albion

Witton make the relatively short trip to Congleton Town on Saturday afternoon in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The Bears have acquitted themselves very well since being promoted from the Midland Football League Premier Division at the end of last season.

They currently sit third in the table and in Max McCarthy have one of the division’s most prolific goalscorers so far, netting sixteen times.

Witton will be looking to complete the double over the Bears following their 5-2 success at the U Lock It Stadium earlier in the campaign.

A hat-trick from Chester loanee Reece Daly was the highlight of that game, with James Hooper and an own goal from former Albion defender Darren Chadwick completing the scoring.

Witton have added to their squad in the last few days with the signing of vastly experienced defender Josh Langley, who has previous experience with AFC Fylde, Guiseley, Southport, Altrincham, Warrington Rylands and Nantwich Town.

Results have suffered a little in recent weeks after an excellent run but Witton will be trying to put things right in the coming games.

They will however have to manage without midfielder James Lawrie due to suspension but the management team will no doubt have things in place to counteract his enforced omission.

Congleton’s home form has been excellent so far with ten wins, two draws and two defeats so Albion face a tough challenge but hopefully they will be up to the test.

Kick off at The Cleric Stadium is 3pm.

An excellent result sees Witton complete the double over the Bears.

Witton return to the U Lock It Stadium on Tuesday night for the first of two home games when they welcome Hanley Town with a 7.45pm kick off.

That was a very good win, true to their word they gave everything and everyone played well and as a team, very strong.

2 good goals from Djabi on for the injured Hepple, lead well by Ben and alongside him - Bembo Leta held the defence strong.

One great move was playing Bailey just in front of the 2 linking the midfield which worked very well. A well deserved win against a team in second place!

Well in everyone. UTA

A very pleasing performance and result - the first time Congleton have been beaten at home since Widnes did so back in October.
