Pretty sure Plant started.
Wasnt a great performance but the ref was absolutely shocking. Great to win like that and some nice banter by the tunnel at the end
Yes it was Plant in goal, his kicking needs to improve in open play by the way ? not a very good performance again, looked awful until sheehan went from full back to midfield ??? and gards came on to full back, how we expected to perform with a centre midfield of shaw and glover god only knows and we didnt, hate to say but vinces team wanted it more, yes they were dirty but had a couple of useful players and really they should have won but glad they didnt and a win is a win, we look short of confidence so that win might help, see our new signing is a midfielder ( Powell from Chester ) how many do we have now ? but we cannot afford a third striker !! which is what i think we need more, i wonder if some of our players think they have the position sewn up because a few are going through the motions imo, they certainly are below last seasons levels currently ! maybe we cannot play on heavy pitches ? I dont know the answer but we are not right for sure I just hope Pritch does. UTA
Is the glass ever half full with you CJ
We won, into the semi’s, still in the play off hunt and have signed a player who looks likely to give us some more bite in midfield.
Oh and we are solvent, play at our own ground and have some cracking events lined up.
I get the impression that unless we were 20 points clear at the top you would still find reason to moan!!
Sorry, who’s the new lad?
Not a performance to be enjoyed, but the result is all that matters in cup games.
Good following of Wittoners (must have been about 80 odd) and seeing Jim Vince visibly disappointed was PRICELESS. As one supporter shouted, “Bottled it again Vince you bottler!”
Being objective (as always) Congleton did themselves proud. Our lads can count themselves very lucky they won. For more than 70 minutes they were a match for us but in the last 15 or 20 minutes I thought that they visably tired and Witton began to take over as Congleton backed off? The important thing I guess is a win. Bit of lively banter at the end. A few snakes were seen in the clubhouse! SBL mooney
Yeah not the best game ever but to come from behind to win with two good goals should give the lads a much needed boost. I think that sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we’re witton albion not barcelona and that the level of football we play (although brilliant at times) isn’t going to be at the standard that you see on the tele! We all now how good the lads can play and i’m sure they’ll regain that form sooner rather than later so we’ve got to get behind them and help them through this rough patch.
Fozzie’s goal was a masterclass in scoring .From that angle ,unbelievable !! I do hope his critics are taking notice. He never stops running.Bravo bud. :clap
I wasn’t there due to personal reasons (JV).
Must admit I am very impressed with Fozzies workrate and his commitment to our club since rejoining…
