Congleton town

Under the cloak of darkness they have announced two new signings, Adam Bayley and Rory Fallon!

Winsford not happy about bailey but thought Rory was at knutford so a thread said ? the bench must be proving too expensive so unloading or maybe it’s just that players don’t like the bench as there’s a few now gone.Crucial though keeping bench happy, surprised didn’t use more of squad players v Afc FYlde.

Rory most inconsistent player seen this season. One game would be great next would be bloody awful.

Not sad to see him go

Have to agree, not one i’m sad to see go.

But saying that, not one player has left this season who hasn’t eventually been improved on.

If players are happier at Congleton Town then they aren’t Witton Albion-class anyway,

Vince likes to splash the cash doesn’t he. Let’s hope it doesn’t end it tears like last time…

Lets seperate fact from fiction on Rory Fallon.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion about players but regardless of his alleged “inconsistency” the fact is Rory played virtually every game from the first game of the season up until him suffering a stress fracture to his elbow against Grantham Town in early November.
The Consultant told him he should be out for 3 weeks but Witton decided that this needed to be 6 !

On his return from injury he was told that as the team had been winning it would be difficult for him to regain his place in the side and that for Financial reasons it was unlikely he would be on the bench. Thus making it difficult to fight for a starting place if you can’t be even get a chance to play your way back in.

Rory was enjoying his football at Witton and liked the Club ,the players and the fans but lost his place in the side as a result of getting injured and has been given little encouragement that he would be playing again anytime soon at Witton.

There are a number of clubs in the Evo Stick Premier and above who are interested in Rory and there our discussions currently taking place about a move.

Kuntsford FC very kindly offered Rory a couple of games to help him regain his match sharpness one of which was against Congleton Town who on seeing he was out of the Witton side made a formal 7 day approach.

Congleton are keen to offer Rory regular football and it is likely and he will play some games for them.

Rory is a very talented player who has provided athleticism to Wittons central midfield and with the right encouragement has an awful lot more to offer.

I am disappointed and surprised that Witton have not tried harder to keep him and were not able to show more loyalty to a young player particularly as he got injured playing for the club.

Mark Fallon ( Rory’s Dad )

Welcome Mr F!

We all have different opinions on this and for the most part, Wittoners seem to be in agreement that he is a good player, and like all players, had good games and bad games. He certainly contributed some good performances and especially in the early part of the season was key.

Sadly, the finance issue is a real issue, and despite Rory’s versatility, our midfield is probably the strongest area of our squad, both in terms of talent and numbers.

Perhaps it was a case of last one in, first one out, or maybe there is something more to it, but I think it’s more likely that with the numbers we;ve got in midfield, somebody had to go.

Im sure I speak for most Wittoners when I say I wish him all the best and wouldn’t mind at all seeing him back here in the future.

Mookie.

Personally I’m disappointed he’s been allowed to leave, he had some very good games most notably away at fylde where he scored probably goal of the season and remember him been particularly good a couple of times at home. Thought he would have suited a 5 man midfield much better, strange one going there though? Spoke to him a couple of times and seemed a good kid but I guess we have lots of options in centre mid now with joe shaw back playing. I’d like to see joe and sheeny play in front of James with foster upfront and then tuck off the bench. 3 points tomorrow!

Echo the above, Rory has been a very good player for Witton and gave us something a little different when he first came into the team. It obviously comes down to the fact that Brian has a very hard job keeping everybody happy with the finances available.and it shows a good manager if hes not afraid to make big decisions. He may well regret letting Stott and Rory go but he would regret more if the club were overspending and go into financial trouble. I wish Rory all the best, he will make a damn good player for someone at this level and we would of course welcome him back if he were to return.

I think he’s a good player I’m sure he will be back at this level sooner rather than later. I know FC United were impressed when he was on trial there in the summer. Sadly the losses to Kendal and skem in the cups have proved costly. Not left a lot of wiggle room in the budget. Glad we’re being sensible with our money first and foremost the club comes first.

UTA

Agree with most said on here technically gifted probably the most skilful, the only doubt I had was he a winger or central mid, when in centre mid seemed to try harder but was missing sometimes yet when on the wing he did not seem to have the same enthusiasm yet I felt he had the talent to be the best in the league, sad to see him go, good luck to him sounds like a bit of politics in there too in letting him go.

I think Rory is a smashing player and it seems a shame that his injury seems to have led to him being “eased” out of the club, best of luck to him for his footballing future!

would just like yo wish rory all the best for the future, he never let witton down, but surely could do better than signing for a side managed by a snake. however good luck to you rory.

Echo the above comments. I thought Rory was a very good footballer. Congletons gain our loss. As I have said before Congleton was/is a good set up. I hope that he enjoys playing there. I also understand from Wittons point of view the difficulties of balancing the budget and at the same time keeping all the players happy. Good luck Rory, SBL

Wish Rory all the best, good young player who scored an absolute belter and possibly crucial goal at Fylde!

He was very reminiscent of the Kyle Wilson situation under another manager for me, filling in at crucial times, offering good competition for places and very skilful to boot, but trying to compete with established team members is always very hard. Like Kyle I hope he goes onto bigger and better things.

Good Luck and Thank You Rory.

Yes good luck to another talented player who has had to leave this season include Stotty SChoey Buchan and ,Wooley unofficial goal of last season and now Rory probably goal of this season.just goes to show what a strong starting 11 there is but getting a good run of games when Pritch has a fixed starting 11 in his head (and i dont argue his choice) is always going to be tough.its a hard side to break into and it successful so chances limited .i do hope tho that a good lad hasnt been sacrificed for mercenaries cos it’s clear the budget is stretched .apparently even the players comp tickets have Been cut now.
On another note given comments at begin of this thread, because the players get a little bit of dough doesn’t mean we should slag them off.opinions are one thing but they are still amateurs and playing for the shirt to best of their ability. They’re not some 80k a week premiership player so credit to Big MF for his restraint !

Who was slagging him off? I pointed out his performances were at best inconsistent. Non of that is fiction.

Are we going to get into this whole argument about people not having opinions on this board

As said in earlier post - perfectly entitled to an opinion but that is what it is … an opinion ! The facts are that Rory played a significant number of contigous games in a good spell for Witton which suggests a level of consistency … otherwise why keep playing him ?
Clearly every player has good days and bad days but if the performances are that poor you don’t keep playing a player !
Plus some of the most disapointing performances of the season - Kendal in Cup ( brought on as very late sub when game lost ) , Skem = injured , Buxton at Home - injured - facts !!

I wish Rory all the best, he’ll be a valuable asset to any team.

Thank you for recognising opinion is not fiction.

Good luck to Rory, I genuinely hope he does well. But my opinion still remains.
