Knowing how thirsty some Wittoners can be, Conway Borough will be opening a beer tent at their ground for tomorrow’s friendly (kick off 2pm). Conway have recently demolished their social club and until a new facility opens hospitality is extended to visiting fans in the temporary beer tent. This should make Des Heesom’s day… Of course, there are no guarantees that we won’t :cheer: drink the place dry…
Unless I can cadge a lift with somebody (willing to pay my whack for petrol), I will be leaving Greenbank station at 11:19, and arriving at Conwy at 12:52.
Return leaves Conwy at 18:26, arriving back at 20:29.
Im over in Llandudno at the moment and will probably be heading back by train tomorrow after the game. There are trains back from Llandudno Junction every 53 mins past the hour but you’d need to either walk or take a taxi there, I’ve been informed a taxi will cost about fiver.
Thanks Giunessman. Your post triggered me to do some further research. You are right, as Llandudno Junction has trains going to Chester from further up the coast, as well as trains going to Chester from Llandudno Central. The 17:44 looks a better option, and is only 1.9miles away from the ground on the other side of the estuary along the A547.
If I don’t get an offer of a lift, I will take my bike with me and cycle the journey.
Just back from London so will have to follow today’s game on here. Cannot wait for the first home game as I cannot make the Buxton game as we have our grandchildren here for a visit prior to them moving to Abu Dhabi with their Mum and Dad. COME ON THE ALBS, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!>
WHS.
Conwy’s Twitter reports that Matt Cooper heavily involved as Albs under pressure before Ryan Wignall made it 1-0 to Borough
The goal must have got Albs going as latest tweet has a "Few good chances for Witton to level. Darren Moss clears off the line superbly from Kyle Wilsons shot." - Before:
“GOAL! Moss is off the pitch with injury and from the resulting corner Kyle Wilson hooks the ball in to make it 1-1.”
“HT Conwy Borough 1-1 Witton Albion. Chances at both ends in this entertaining pre season encounter.”
I gave a lift home to Ian Watson, but he left his wallet in my car. If anybody has any contact details for Ian, please email or PM me.
Jeff Metcalf
I have now spoken to Ian and made arrangements…Thanks
Somehow managed 8 pints at Conwy and still managed to see the goals. Lovely little place, shame about the result and good to see so many Wittoners, outnumbering the 2 Conwy fans I noticed
