Stott, Tuck and Gards with the goals today! Good performance, hospitallity was good with a decent pitch. Has to be one of the best backdrops ever to play football if anyone has a pic to post. No booth, sheens, shaw, schofield today. Ghags has been ill and will need to undertake some intense training to force his way in
Seems like we’ve put away more penalties in the friendlies than all last season! Anyone know if Tuck or Gards will be our taker next season? Having a good pen taker could make a big difference
It was pleasant afternoon out and an OK game. In truth they didn’t really have much of a cutting edge and I think Witton should have won by a bigger margin. (Undefeated now since the home game V Skem, last season). The backdrop was fantastic. I climbed up to the top and the views were amazin. Facilities and pitch were good so no complaints except it was a long way! Lots of Wittoners made the journey and Vics got beat by Congleton!!! SBL
I’m confused is this the very same Conway as before, with the ground at Old Conway? I remember leaving there one evening (ithink we won 1-0 with a Colin Rose goal) and hearing on the car radio Peter Scmichael scoring for UTD!
Videos of 2nd and 3rd goal on facebook several times(First time I have tried to upload a video from my camera, and it looked like it was failing, so I kept retrying. I ended up with several uploads!! You learn by your mistakes)
I have tried, via adding a file, but it didn’t like the type of file.
If somebody can pm me some instructions I will do.[/quote]
The other option is to put it on to you tube and stick it up from there. You’d have to register with youtube but then it’s fairly straightforward. I tried posting them on the Witton facebook page which would probably be a good workaround but it wont allow people to post on it’s wall.
Wife travelled with me but she likes the shopping in Llandudno so she went there while I was at the game but overall it was a lovely day out with nice wether and has been said already the ground was in a scenic position.
As for the match the 1st half it was all Witton hitting the post and scoring 2 goals. Dissapointed with the way we conceded the goal and so was Pritch and I think its something we can work on to improve. The result was never in doubt to be honest as substitutions were made in the 2nd half.
My observations from the game are this -:
Shaun Tuck is a fantastic signing, he’s sharpe his work rate is unbelievable and he is a clone of Titch which I think is great so its an inspired signing by our great management team.
Ben Harrison usual assured display he’s made the no 4 shirt his own now that the other bloke who had it for years is not a regular!!
Rory Fallon I was impressed with and he looked a class above any other midfield player on the field.
He must be worth another look Tuesday at Trafford. He looks like he could play wide midfield as well.
Of the guys that came on no 17 (don’t know his name) did nothing wrong and was steady again worth another look but suspect he’d be behind our current wide two and Fallon. The lad up front Steele showed some decent touches but just worried about his temperement as he did get involved a couple of times with their centre half. Frostie did well to get the pen and Buchan was full of running.
Josh Glover was assured at the back really like him and of course our 2 fullbacks speak for themselves as do Josh Hancock and Danny Andrews. Considering we were missing Boothy, Sheridan(Sheehan!!), Schoey and given that its what it was a practice game I think we did well.
Onward and Upward to Trafford Tuesday but enjoyed the day out and the wife used her own credit card!!
