Another very tough game for the Albs but confidence must be better for the performance on Saturday at Skem.
The new lads all did well and i believe Bakkor is eligible to play after his suspension so it will be interesting to see how Sully lines the team up tonight.
The bookies dont rate our chances but im a firm believer in our luck is due to change soon surely so had a little wager on a Witton victory tonight.
See you there
UTA
Team selection will be very interesting ! If fit I’d start Sam Barnes with Ben and move Gards to right back, try the same midfield 5 and Koral up top again, then later try to get Titch and Bakkor into the game to try and nick it, don’t think a midfield 4 will be strong enough v Curzon, lets give em a shout tonight. Well with that starting 11 I think we can get the 3 points tonight UTA
Moyo late replacement for Shaw. Precautionary.
1-0 to the Albs, Hancock!
We are Albion!!!
Taken from Curzon Twitter account:
@CurzonLive: HT Curzon 1-1 Witton - A slow start to the game from The Nash led to Albion going ahead. However a brilliant goal gets the scores back level
FT 2-1 curzon. 11 straight defeats

Remember how full that stand was 2 1/2 years ago?
We were thinking of a pitch invasion but it doesn’t really have the same effect when there’s only 12 of us!
Sounds like we gave it a real good go and if we can replicate our form against the better teams then we should pick up points.
Can’t remember how many Wittoners were at Curzon when we played there in previous years (also they haven’t always played at that ground btw!).
Lets show a picture of Wembley now and say ‘Where are you all now?’ or should we show a picture of Van Leer or New Brighton in the 70s and say who remembers this?
The point is watching Witton is transient and all those 500 or so people who went to the play off at Curzon ARE Wittoners whether they go to every game or an occasional game.
Well done to those who travelled and supported last night, we don’t want to get to the WHS stage of putting apologies and reasons why not in or do we?
Well thee were 5 of us in the main stand as well but what poor support for Curzon newly promoted and challenging for the title, onto the game we really did play well for the 90 minutes but ewe cannot miss that many clear chances if we want to win games 5-6 very good chances all spurned and we have got to stop giving silly free kicks away around and in our box is has cost us dearly in recent games ! Plus points from the match Barnes played the full 90, Koral played well again,OBrien was good and all the team put in a full shift and aprt from finishing we played well, it is so disappointing to get nothing again even though we more than matched a very good team. As Any says we now need to keep tthat form and effort and get some points on the board against lesser teams starting on Saturday hopefully. UTA
Is this the longest run of straight defeats in the clubs history? Cant be far off surely!
Sounds like there has been improvement the last couple of games so hopefully it won’t be long before we start getting points on the board again B)
Hancock took his goal really well, we should of gone 2-0 up before they drew level as we had a couple of decent opportunities, their goal was a stunning free kick from 25 yards out that flew in although i felt our keeper may of done better as it appeared to go directly over him and under the bar but apart from that he had a good game.
2nd half and Andrews curled a shot just over with only the keeper to beat, Gards also came close but hit the side netting and a goal bound shot was fingertipped over the bar by the Curzon keeper.
The penalty award seemed very harsh and the reaction from our players suggested it was a soft decision from a ref who seemed to let Curzon foul us all night yet only blow his whistle when a man in blue was fouled! In fact while waiting to take a Curzon free kick in the first half one of our players ended up slumped on the floor with Witton players going mad to the linesman and ref shouting that a Curzon player had elbowed him, after consulting the linesman the ref allowed the game to continue without a word to any Curzon players!
I was particularly impressed by Sam Barnes who’s voice could be heard throughout the game telling others where to go and who to mark, Ben Harrison had his best game in 12 months in my opinion and Koral showed some great touches, Rainford had a couple of shots and looks the part up front.
I will stick my neck out now and say we will stop the rot on Saturday by beating Grantham, we have matched the 2 form teams in the league in the last few days so its time to start getting some points on the board.
UTA
11 straight defeats (9 League, 2 Cup) beating the 10 (8 League, 2 Cup) in 2008 and the (9 League, 1 Cup) back in 1930.
A record we didn’t ever really want to break
Regardless of who plays tomorrow I presume it counts as a first team fixture so hopefully we don’t stretch this record any further.
