Vics set to appeal against expulsion Jun 6 2005<br><br> <br><br> <br>Daily Post<br> <br> <br>NORTHWICH VICTORIA are to appeal against a shock decision by the Nationwide Conference to expel them in 2005-06 after failing to comply with financial requirements.<br><br>A Conference state-ment said: "Northwich should have obtained a grading certificate for their new ground by April 1. By concession, the club were given until May 31 to comply on ground and club owner-ship status and although the ground was acceptable, the existing club in membership did not have any security of tenure over the ground and as such could not remain in membership."<br><br>It is expected that Northwich’s place in the Conference will be offered to Forest Green.<br><br>A Conference source said that Northwich were offered a reprieve if chairman Mike Connett paid a bond of ?150,000, but this was not done.<br><br>Whether Northwich will be relegated to Conference North or the Uni-Bond League has not yet been made clear.<br><br>Vics Supporters Trust, secretary Peter Grimes said: "After the months of work and hundreds of thousands of pounds spent to fail on a member-ship technicality takes some bearing. Everyone at the club is sick"<br><br>Assistant manager Dave Moss said: "After the season we have just had and the things we achieved on the field, like winning the Conference Club of the Year award, this is the last thing we wanted to hear. Manager Steve Burr and I have just signed new two-year contracts and we have a team ready to go with four new signings.
