Damn good vs Curzon

I couldn’t make it today sadly, what a fantastic way to bounce back from last weeks dissapointment against Skem!! Two weeks running we’ve had the highest crowd in the league too, well done to all (anyone know the scorers?).

Sheehan first? pen?

titch with the last two.

Fantastic performance today, on this form we are by far the best team in the league.

Excellent result today which made up for the last two results. Good display by all involved. I’ll bet Flyde are pleased with us today. Good crowd witnessed a good game. Can someone tell me how their No 4 wasn’t sent off for the foul which resulted in our penalty? He had already been booked previously so maybe the referee bottled it? Incidentally, talking about the referee I thought that he had a really good game today. + It was really good to see the Chairman watching the game. I hope the game game him a good lift. Good to have him back. + the Vics got beat so a good day all round!!!

Brilliant result today. I thought Josh Hancock had a great game today and I’m made up for Titch to get himself back in the league goals. Plenty of positives to take from this, hopefully we can maintain this form. We all know how important form is at the end of the season (2008 Fleetwood anyone?).

I’d be confident of facing Curzon Ashton in the play-offs, we’ve been the better side twice this season against them.

Excellent performance by the whole team today, we dominated the league leaders from start to finish (well, more-or-less, we eased off a bit when 3-0 up!). Great to see the lads were really up for it today after last week’s disappointment. We’ve not been at our best for a while, so it was good to see a return to top form. If we can maintain this standard for the rest of the season, the title is still a possibility (as Left Pegger said, remember Fleetwood!); if not, I fancy our chances in the play-offs.

Also, I second SBL’s post - I too thought the referee had an excellent game, probably the best we’ve had this season.

We made Curzon look very average.
A great result made even sweeter by Mark being there to watch.
Well done boys!

Was great to see mark back and glad we put in a performance fit for his return and a great tribute to wheels’ dad.
Agree thought josh had a brilliant game, they couldn’t handle titch and thought liams work rate was superb. Great display all round and shows what we’re capable of. It’s given everyone a lift hopefully the start of a great run in. Let’s do a fleetwood!

We were excellent all round really up for it great energy and skill, i thought 3-1 flatterd them, our inconsistency at home unfortunately means we will probabaly be in the playoffs but who would want to play us on todays form !!! UTA

Outstanding performance against a team that have only lost once all season before yesterday
Right from the off we put the pressure on and they didn’t stand a chance. Their defense couldn’t handle titch and if we do reach the playoffs and play against curzon they will be sh****** their pants.
I have been critical of josh for a while (since the barrow game actually) but my god what a game he had yesterday!!! On that form there’s no better winger in this league - absolute class!
I think alot of us think that playoffs are a given now but I would say far from it! There are 4 or 5 teams below us that want to be where we are so we need to put a winning run together and you never know even take the title? On yesterdays performance - why not?
Ps great to see mark Harris back and a great win for Wheels’ dad.

A play-off place may not be a given, but if my maths is correct, we only need 1 more point to be safe from relegation

Great win Satdy - well done to all. I must admit to having given up on the Championship, but …

Fylde looking pretty strong - although they’ve got 3 away games on the bounce. Maybe, just maybe?

Come On The Albion!

What a fantastic day on Saturday for 3 reason for me -:

  1. Great win against a top team we did n’t just beat them we murdered them it was so one sided that if it had been a boxing match the Ref would have stopped the fight after 45 minutes even though we only had the penalty to show for our hard work and sparkling play.

  2. The appearence of Bill “Tick a Tick” Tynan in the club after. For the youngers ones Bill was an old fashioned Centre forward in the Ken Barnes era. He was in the team in the Fa cup at Bradford 1966 where we lost narrowly andinfact from memory he was uphended in the box and we should have had a pen!! Bill was great and we had a good hour talking about the old days he was a hero of mine. Now lives in Tavistock near Plymouth, is 70 next week but still looks fit and will be back next season when he visits friends and relatives up here.

  3. the return of the “Gaffer” Mark Harris. How good to see him even though he does look a little ropey. Pritch told me after that he looked far worse a month ago so he must be on the mend.
The guy is an ICON for all football chairman everywhere. Contrast Mark with what you see over the canal and you see the exact opposite and makes you realise how lucky we are supporting this great club!!
This is what makes our little club so great when old players turn up for a visit and our chairman gets up of his sick bed to present man of the match awards in a way only he can do.
A marvellous Saturday afternoon out and the best I’ve had this season.
Onward and Upward to Salford Tuesday where we have to try and keep our momentum going!!
Superb especially as how Newport are through to the next round making the day complete!!

Great post Mona and agree with all the sentiments.

Welcome back Mark - good to hear you’re on the mend!

really great to see mark harriss back, and what a performance he saw, an excellent display. we outplayed the league leaders from start to finish, it’s just a pity that we have failed to turn up for one or two or more matches at home, or WE would be top of the league. but what a season this squad is giving us, let’s hope we can keep it together for some time. come on witton.

Fantastic football played at a high speed right at the heart of their huge but very capable centre-backs.

Completely deserved although Curzon played a couple of very well placed deep crosses that caused us problems during the first half.

Also thought that AG at right back was superb and yet again Hancock had more than his usual half hour [one for my dad]

Good crowd yet again to laugh in the face of the competition of live premiership football in your local or state of art dish buckling the gable end of your house.
