Sad to say but Darlington have failed to come out of administration and as such will face a relegation punishment. This would put them in the Evo Stik premier if the FA don’t further punish us.
However since we have now walked out of the ground if is likely that we would struggle to find a ground share suitable so it may be Evo Stik 1 or beyond. Doubt it would be Northern League as none of the teams electing for promotion finished in top 2.
So Evo Stik league has a situation where 2 clubs gone from North 1 ( which is likely to save one of the relegated clubs) V*cs dropping into the other spot so I don’t see where Darlington would fit in. Plus we couldn’t go into northern league 1 as it is full (as Durham are likely to find out) so where would we play our football?
Personally think we should have reformed under a Phoenix club in January as we appear to be no better off for carrying on.
However we won’t be the last to go pop. Just sad to think this time last year we were at wembley celebrating an FA trophy win. Now we’ll be lucky to get in the FA Vase!!!
Shame but building that ground was ridiculous. What was wrong with Feethams?
Nothing!!! We were in the hands of a madman
Terrible shame, really annoys me how people can bugger up clubs like that.
The club has been saved after buying all assets of company that owned former club. We’ve exited administration with no CVA in place which will be frowned upon. We have also agreed a ground share deal with Shildon without checking the grading on the ground first.
Darlo fans hoping to get into NPL (which would be good for Witton as we’d bring a massive away following) however I’m not sure we’ll even get in the Northern League.
Could be worse could be a Vics fan. In fact if I hang around Stafford in July I might get a game for them since all their players are leaving!!!
Shildon has got to be one of the worst grounds I have ever visited.
My main memory of it is of the Bishop Auckland number 5 throwing mud at my dad after a game.
Sounds perfectly reasonable, and no doubt well-deserved.
It was during play, at a corner I think.
If he was interacting with me then he wasn’t concentrating!
Besides, there weren’t any stewards
On a serious note; Jamie, is there any indication of when the FA will sort out all the league line ups?
The talk is next week (15th).
My understanding is that they know Shildon isn’t up to scratch for NPL and are expecting Darlington to go into D1N.
There’s a massive over subscription in Northern League with Durham leaving and no one coming up. The obvious place to put Darlington is to replace Durham.
The drama at Darlington goes on. We’ve done a V*cs and moved ground share again to Bishop Auckland in the hope that the FA will put us in the NPL after an appeal was heard on Friday.
I’m not hopeful however other than FC united, Darlo would bring the biggest away following which would be great for the bank balance…
Clubs spend more than they earn then go bust, what a surprise!

If you look back over the history of it there are a number of factors that have led to this. One was chasing the promotion dream however we also had a chairman who stripped all the assets away from the club then did one and eventually went to prison for money laundering.
Sorry to hear that but the fact is most football teams and their supporters live in a dream world where they win every week and make masses of money to fund their massively overpaid players. Apart from a very select few this dream usually turns into a nightmare.
