Dear shareholder...

No doubt many of you like me have received a letter from GE appealing for contributions for the floodlight fund.

Q. Are you still passionate about WAFC ?

Q Do you want to give your shares back ?

Don’t really see why the questions are being asked… but still

The original post was not inteneded to offend or upset anybody and if it it has I sincerely apologize.

Do you want him to lighten up?

A somewhat typical negative response - really no need for the infantile posting Eli. Whilst it hasn’t surprised me that you should feel the need to post this, I do wonder why? Please - don’t bother answering.

You have received a request - you either respond favourably or you bin it.

Simples.

GE

A glare-ing and illumuinating mistake on my behalf Graham ?

The post is getting some hits so maybe more donations ?

Not had my letter yet, but we could donate the Sponsored Walk money towards the Floodlight Fund?

Good idea JAP.

Eli, so does that mean you are donating some money on the back of GE’s letter? Or are you just returning your shares?

Have already donated via JE head shave but I will be donating some more and I will not be returning my shares despite not being inspired by the said letter.

Cynics and lampooners live longer you know !

Haven’t had the letter yet but this “returning shares”, wtf is that all about?

Also any mention of a “root and branch review” (as in chaimans statement) makes me nervous!

Must be something to do with the grass on the pitch.
It needs to have good strong roots and branches.
Does grass have branches ???

Yes but not half as nervous as I would be if nothing was being done.

This shoud be our time to capitalise on what is happening to our neighbours, yet so far we have failed to gain any advantage from the situation

Got your letter yesterday Mr.E. The response is back to you posted last evening.

Many thanks GE I recieved my letter yesterday, I have read and re-read it many many times and still I do not quite get it. I would be more than willing as a fellow shareholder to help with the floodlights but it would be better to know that the Football Foundation grant was in place, so that we remaining few proud Wittoners would have a chance of making up the rest. I will NOT be returning my shares as I bloody love the Albs!

Eli i think the point of the letter was quite clear? You were at the last shareholders meeting, where the question was asked of how people can go about purchasing further shares. We were made aware that all possible shares have now been issued, and that the only way to make further shares available would be for lapsed Wittoners to return any shares that they no longer felt they needed to hold on to.

I hope that this clears up some of the confusion for you.

Just so not to keep you all in the dark.

Following comments on the supporters forum in relation to the fund raising activities for the flooldights, I would like to clarify the situation on behalf of the Board of Directors.

I am pleased to report that following a submission to the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), we have received written confirmation that they will provide a grant of 46% of the total cost (excl VAT) of the work required, which leaves us with approximately £12,000 as part of our contribution.

There are three issues facing us;

The grant offer is subject to certain requirements, one being that the work is completed within two months of the grant offer being made:the clock started ticking down on 11 May
If we don’t meet this deadline?: the grant is withdrawn
Bi-annually the lux reading of the system has to be undertaken and full details provided to the League. This is to ensure that we meet ground grading requirements to play at the level we are: that piece of work has to be completed by 18 July
For clarification, while the talk is about the ‘floodlights’ what is actually being replaced are the lamps and igniters, not the columns.

Graham Shuttleworth - Football Secretary

A full and proper explanation, works wonders, I will now be supporting the appeal. I had been convinced the whole lot of the lights and gantries needed replacing!
