Team news: New signing John Lawless makes his debut while Neil Black returns after being cup-tied in midweek. Paul Booth returns to the starting line-up after being rested, while Jordan King retains his place in place of Oliver James. Paul Williams & Tony Dunne drop to the bench.
We’d have probably been fairly satisfied with a point last week and a point today, that would have been just 2 points compared to the 3 we have actually picked up.
even though we have been beat today it is still an impresive result.
thinking of positives
i believe we would have lost alot more than that a couple of months ago meaning we have have improved loads
glad to hear of the debute goal from lawless lets hope for more to come
It was disappointing to lose in the end.
Other than their extremely scrappy goal, the first half was pretty much even. We had the first proper goal scoring chance when Black got the ball to Thompson in the centre of the box on the second attempt from the by-line, Thompson’s bicycle kick was then well saved by the keeper. The Eastwood goal came from a corner on the right, not cleared, Smith ended up on the ground and the Eastwood player stuck it past him.
Second half we were definitely on top. We got the penalty when Thompson was fouled at the corner of the box following a corner. The ball was delivered from the left, and after a number of attempts, and poor clearances, Thompson was pushed over by the defender at the corner of the box. Lawless stepped up, sent the keeper the wrong way and camly slotted it home.
Their second goal came from a cross from the left that went straight in. Lawless and Scott thought that the ball had gone out for a throw and stood looking at the liner whilst the Eastwood player put the ball in from wide left, and Smith failed to get a touch. We had a couple of late chances put failed to find the target.
Eastwood certainly don’t look like a top-of-the-table side and we were unlucky to lose.
