Emirates FA Challenge Cup

The draw for the First Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Challenge Cup will be made on Tuesday, 28th August at around 1pm.

Witton Albion will enter the competition at this stage and the ties are scheduled to be played on SATURDAY, 8th SEPTEMBER 2018.

The draw is Witton v Bottesford town

We already have a fixture arranged for that date…away to Helsby in the Cheshire FA Senior Cup 1st Prelim Round. Do we know that arrangements are being made to move this tie?

The game at Helsby is the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup - the U21’s Development Squad are representing the club in that one.

Bottesford Town play in the Northern Counties Eastern League Premier Division and are based in Scunthorpe.

Bottesford Town are based in Scunthorpe and play in the Northern Counties East Premier Division.

They’ve never been further than the First Qualifying Round in their history but had a good win 4-2 away to Loughborough Dynamos in the Preliminary Round.

Edit: Great Minds think alike Derek!

I have just been informed that the Cheshire FA Cup tie away to Helsby on the same date wont be affected, as we are using our Development Team in the Cheshire Cup this year.

Our Emirates FA Challenge Cup First Qualifying Round opponents Bottesford Town, have gone through to the next round of the Buildbase FA Vase after beating Leicester Road FC 2-1 in a replay at home on Wednesday night. Former Grantham Town forward Jack McMenemy scoring the winner in the dying minutes in front of 55 spectators.

The draw for the Emirates FA Challenge Cup Second Qualifying Round is being made at lunchtime on Monday, with ties scheduled to be played on the weekend of SATURDAY, 22nd SEPTEMBER.

Clubs from Vanarama League North enter the competition at this stage.

Emirates FA Challenge Cup Second Qualifying Round:

WITTON ALBION vs Spennymoor Town.

Tie scheduled to be played on SATURDAY, 22nd SEPTEMBER.

The draw for the Third Qualifying Round is scheduled to take place on Monday lunchtime around 1pm. News of the draw will be posted on here as soon as the details are known.

Ties scheduled for SATURDAY, 6th OCTOBER - which means our scheduled home Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture against Stalybridge Celtic will be re arranged.

Emirates FA Challenge Cup Third Qualifying Round:

FC United of Manchester vs WITTON ALBION

Tie scheduled to be played on SATURDAY, 6th OCTOBER.

A home draw would have been good but this is definitely winnable.
COME ON WITTON!

We can definitely win this one, if we go at them from the start and play as we did against Spennymoor. This team can take us on a memorable cup run. UTA

There is no doubt it’s a tough draw, but I fancy a 1-1 draw and then win a home replay. But we will have to keep playing as we did v Spennymoor. UTA

The Fourth Qualifying Round Draw is live on TalkSport2 on Monday lunchtime.

Ties are scheduled to be played on the weekend of 20th October which means our scheduled home Evo-Stik Premier Division fixture against Grantham Town will be postponed.

I’ve got a feeling that this year could be the year for us to go on a really good FA cup run. But to do that we need all supporters to get behind the team. So the answer is down to us fans, get down to Wincham Park and get behind the team. UTA
