The score doesn’t matter, we were there!!
Matlock Town at home
Not a bad draw from a footballing point of view, they are 3rd bottom in the Uni Prem.
Hopefully being relatively local they might bring a few supporters as well!

Witton United?
a good draw, with a chance of progressing to the
next round. any home draw must be good at this
stage. :cheer:
theres only one witton united :woohoo:
That’ll do nicely!! Small town near Buxton, they’re just a small town near Buxton…
A decent gate (if we win our next two games) and £4,000 on top will do very nicely as we don’t have to give it all to the tax man (unlike another club I have heard of).

a good home draw for us,but i think that matlock have been our bogey team in the past, few games that we,ve played against each other.Hope i,m wrong and we get a decent win.
“Witton till i die”
I seem to recall us beating Matlock more than them beating us in recent years. They did beat us at the end of last season which was a big game. Apart from that though we have had good success including the sweet playoff win in extra time a couple of years back.
This game is very winnable as long as we play to our potential and the home advantage and income is only a positive.
good luck boys. come on witerrnnnnnnnnnnnnn

It’s not just the UniBond who are idiots. The FA website lists us as Witton United in the draw.
General opinion seems to be that it is a good draw - not that many Unibond 1 sides left now so to avoid the premier & conf north heavy weights must be a bonus.
Should attract our best crowd of the season, meaning reasonable income from the gate, its localish, they may bring a few and its winable and if we have a replay it aint too far!
1 round from the conference sides - thats got to be an incentive for everyone?
Matlock are not having the best of seasons league-wise but the cup is another matter. Won 1-0 away at Zamaretto Premier Division Cambridge City on Saturday who, are currently unbeaten in their league and in the play-off places.
Having said that, we seem to produce against them more often than not. Remember the Play-Off Semi Final?
AS someone who hates a certain “United” with a vengeance can’t we sue the league and FA for using that name in OUR title?

Just checked the F.A website for the draw and as I thought as I was checking at work today It says Witton Albion NOT Witton United which fool started that rumour??
Thank goodness, I would be horrified if we ever got called “United”, it’s almost as bad as being called “Vics”!!!
