Well that was better ! Everyone playing at their best and a brilliant last 10 minutes.
MoM - Difficult to pick but I will go with " There’s only one STEVIE FOSTER "

A great improvement from the last few dire offerings.
Couldn’t make my mind up for MOM a choice between Foster, MM and Amie Tandy (as programme), seeing the golden goal was on 38 minutes, suppose I must give it to the scorer.
Well done Gary and the Lads!
That’s more like it.
I’d give my MOM to Tandy although Steve Foster,Brad and Paul Booth pushed him close.
Nice to have a choice of candidates!!
Let’s hope the draw is kind to us because it’s £4K next and one step nearer Wembley
When is the draw for the next round ?
wow still got a big happy smile thought the effort from every player was 1st class and how we didnt have the game sewn up before brigg scored is beyond me! maybe my only concern was the fact we pass inside the box too much instead of just shooting  very hard to pick a man of the match as everyone played well but il give it to jamie for that wonder goal at the end!
draw is tomorrow lunchtime i believe so lets hope its kind to us and we can keep this cup run going
A much better performance and a really important win, I thought we showed great character after the game had gone to 1-1 and focused on winning the tie at the first opportunity. A trip to Brigg on a wintry Tuesday evening would certainly have been difficult and unappealing!
Gutted for Brodie to exit with his hamstring problem but I would have to say it helped change the game. Lee Neville’s introduction at left back and moving Tandy back to his better position in midfield made a difference and I can’t honestly see why we didn’t start this way from the off, as it seems a pretty obvious line-up. Tandy and Maylett both played very well and I would echo the comment made by a few others that when Maylett plays well the team plays well!
In the first half we had a void in midfield with Henry and Heler doing a fair bit if chasing around but not asserting any control on the game, another difference was that these two grew into the game in the second half. I still don’t rate Heler but he was better and hopefully can push on from this performance. The departure of Steve Hall (and Brodie’s injury) leaves us very low on options in midfield. As mentioned in a previous post we are desperate for a ‘Dave MacPherson’ type player who tracks from box to box.
Thought Ruffer played well, clean and tidy, no nonsense type performance. Still not convinced that the Rudd/Ruffer partnership offers anything better than we had. Rudd is prone to the occasional lapse, conceding the free kick that led to the goal. As well as he has done at the back I still see him as a striker filling in at the back, rather than a naturally imposing centre half.
Foster played extremely well again, the intelligent lay back for Henry’s goal and his sharp turn for the third goal killed the game off. Tandy’s goal was the pick of the bunch, superbly executed volley and for me crowned a man of the match performance, probably his best yet in a Witton shirt.
A justified victory, great spirit to fight on to the final whistle and £3000 more in the pot, a good days work that we have to build on.
I thought Heler had his best game since his injury against Fleetwood, and his subsequent dose of swine flu. He looked more at home in the centre of midfield.
With regards a Dave MacPherson type of player, we have one training with us, Ryan Broadhead. He is a local player, having spent most of his game in Sunday League football, and under Terry Murphy’s wing at Middlewich Town. Recently, he has been with Vics and Ashton United, but not getting a game.
I am not sure if he has the ability to step up to our level…time, training and Gary will tell, but it would be nice to have a local lad in the team once again.
My 150 mile round trip was wll worth it. First game of the season and I cant see what you are all moaning at. We played great football at times and it could have ended 14-1 not 4-1. Not convinced with the midfield (number 6, although he scored a good goal to make it 2-1) but with the 3 strikers we have, especially Foster who was superb, we should be ok.
Football is all about confidence and maybe that was what we were lacking, the result yesterday should sort that out.
Poor attendance though, must be a worry for the board.
Would love to see the local lad given a go in the midfield, failing that Dave MacPherson.

I played in the same team as Ryan Broadhead for a few years when i was young and he was unreal, havent seen him play as much the last few years but i reckon he could be quality.

Unreal? Like a unicorn?
i dont get it robbo…
Totally agree Stu, I have played against him a few times and he always seems to be bad news. Gifted player but the bad baggage that comes with him could be damaging to our clubs reputation.
Geoff thanks for your support…I must say that the comments left by some members are very harsh in my opinion, the most important thing for me to do IF signed is to go out and prove these people wrong and let my feet do the talking.
I am a talented footballer and a local lad who is more than capable of making the step up. I have had a good hard few months training and have found opportunities limited at Northwich but feel I could add strength in depth to Witton Albion If required.
I just hope If signed that I will get the support from the locals.
Welcome to Witton Albion Ryan - you can count on my support. Give it a good go lad - local makes good is always a winner in football.
Ryan, every player that pulls on a Witton shirt will get my full backing, no matter what they have done in the past. John Lawless anyone??
If you try your heart out every time your on the pitch and dont get involved with the opposition then every Witton fan will back you. Keep trying hard in training etc and im sure your chance may come because we are woefully short in the middle at the moment with Brodie’s injury.
well said eli.
Well i have seen Ryan play loads of times with and against my lads, he is a good player, but he does have a pretty big attitude problem and he wont change unless he accepts that and tries to change it ? and until he grows up/out of it then imo he wont go any further than he has so far, his other issue was a lack of fitness - essential for a centre midfielder at any level but if he has put the work in and got fit then he has a chance at this level, so get your head down ryen take your chance and and Im sure wittoners will give you a chance- whether Gary will is another issue- he does not seem to look at local players even at this level.
Yes Ry, you’ve got my backing and im sure like Clarky said above… as long as you wear your shirt with pride and give it your all mate you will be a crowd favourite in no time.
I have no doubt you have the quality to change games at this level and if given the chance, I say grasp it with both hands. ched
As me awld dad used to say…go on son, get in there! Good luck to you Ryan Broadhead!
