FA Trophy Witton Albion vs Sutton Coldfield

Sutton Coldfield are not having the best of seasons and are 16th in the Zameretto
Midlands Division having only won 1 league game. Big game for us this one - money at stake - and a chance of having a much needed Cup run. Let’s hope for a decent crowd to get behind the lads - bring a friend or better still if you know any stayaway fans drag them along as well.

Lets not under estimate Sutton they at least got to the 3rd Qualifier in the FA cup and only lost in a replay.

They’ve been playing well in the cups and beat Hednesford 3-1 at keys park.

Grandsons birthday this saturday so can,t make it,will be looking for scores, hope it goes our way.Come on Albion

big game saturday, looking forward to it.

If MM is still unavailable then Ruddy needs to go up top surely?
Couldnt make last nights game but an important win in the lead up to saturday.

I predict a 3-0 home win.

Yeah I think Ruddy or MM needs to be upfront with Fozz, seem to be lacking when he’s on his own. Can’t fault his effort though, never stops battling.

Not wanting to tempt fate, I have included what little information I have available in Saturday’s programme just incase the game goes to a replay.

Its worth noting should the game be a replay I’ve been informed per the local paper that replay is Monday not Tuesday. (best tell your boss on Friday!)

Hey! Come on the Albs, 3-0 is MY scoreline think of your own!! Should be present again on Saturday, God and the wife willing.

Don’t worry a replay will not be needed, we will triumph!!

Huge game tomorrow with a lot of money riding on it.No added pressure for the players then.We go into this game full of confidence, with everybody in good form.Thankfully,Tuesdays enjoyable game, provided by two good teams on the night, enabled us to come through it unscathed.Brad, received a whack on his shin but quickly ran it off. With regards to Brad,I feel he is now showing his undoubted class and against Quorn he dictated our attacking play especially in the first half.

It is of course not all down to Brad,he is just part of a group of four or five big game players, enjoying good form. These big game players will hopefully provide the platform for a big game win.

How is our keeper?
WHS.

Take it we have a full squad today? As usual I forecast a 3-0 victory all scored in the first twenty minutes so we can relax and enjoy the game. (It will never happen of course, Witton love to give supporters palpations).
WHS.

Drew 1-1 fozzie with a penalty in last 10 mims

Awful display, don’t know what was worse, the ref or the tactics!

Not happy that Pritch and Boothy are on the bench…whats going on !!!

Rudd and the new guy did a good job at the back. Having competition for places is also good.

Competition for places is good if you can afford to have a large squad but we can;t. We need to spend money in midfield and upfront before we start buying more defenders!

I felt the last time we were in this standard that what we needed wa what we had at the end of this game, three big forwards, ignore midfield and belt it up to them. Not pretty but it would work.
WHS.
If any of the three penalties we have been given in the last two matches had been given against us I would not have been best pleased, makes a change, we get what we don’t deserve, it’s usually the other way around.

The ref was absolutely dreadful and had no control of the game, but in truth you could use a similar set of words for our manager!

Why you decide to try a new partnership of central defenders in a cup game of importance is beyond me! A place in the next round and £2,300 prize money is at stake so why take such a gamble? The effect is that iy also unnerves the two full backs and this showed today. Rudd and Ruffer were caught horribly out of position a couple of times before the goal.

The goal was Lee Neville’s fault for getting dispossessed however it is good job that Rudd did not connect with the sliding challenge he attempted otherwise we would have been down to 10 men!

What concerns me is that when we were then chasing the game and looked at the bench sat there were two very good centre halves??? Given that wages are already over budget why do we need to go and get another centre half when we have two good ones on the bench, surely there are other positions to strengthen first? It worries me that if the manager falls out with players as he seems to then all we do is drive some very good ones out of the club.

Competition for places is healthy but poor man management is not!

We got a draw and on today’s performance we were lucky!
