Anyone heard anything from the game? who played, who scored and most importantly of all any knocks?
Kennedy Brownhill Peers Lloyd Warlow Thornley all played 1st half. Thornley 2nd half.
Peers & Warlow came on as subs again 2nd half.
Liam scored a beauty from 25yards top right corner of net.
Lloyd took a knock but seemed ok.

Were you expecting them to play without shirts on?! It was far too cold for that!!
I truly was proud to see SIX WITTON ALBION PLAYERS wearing the white England Shirt. Am looking forward to seeing Keith Clayton’s photos from the night and full marks to him for braving the cold as well.
Thought it mean that Cavell wasn’t able to take part. Understood the original assumption that all 16 named players would take part but when we started to have a rolling sub cropping up then having travelled surely Cav could have figured.
Just to let you know the other players were from:-
Guiseley (Richard Dunning, Simon Sturdy & James Hanson).
Gateshead (James Curtis & Dave Southern)
Buxton (Anton Foster, Jordan Hall & Gregg Anderson)
Fleetwood (Ciaran Donnelly)
Ossett Town (Piotr Skiba) - their goalkeeper
Liam’s goal was a belter - shame his family etc arrived too late to see it - they wouldn’t believe him until I read my notes out to them. Mark Peers started the move that brought Donnelly the 2nd goal and Adam Warlow saw the Sheffield keeper make a smart save when he got back to block Adam’s placed shot. At the other end J.K. pulled off a tremendous diving save to push away a shot.
I got to give the England C manager Paul Fairclough a copy of his entry in my Witton Players A-Z, think he was chuffed to have it and he mentioned that he had a copy of the "Sons of Albion"
Was well worth making the trip, the quality of our players really stood out on the night. Thought Sheffield were decent opposition and thankfully we didn’t pick up any injuries.
Liam’s goal was a cracker, he said he’d be doing the same again Saturday! The Warlow and Thornley partnership also got another 45 minutes, they worked really well together again.
By the look on Jim’s face, I don’t think he was aware of the rolling subs situation!
And the journey was nice and straight-forward too hey Greg… :o
Having a passenger that can follow directions also helps…
Why does everyone get lost once Robbo gets in the car!! The other week I drove to Leek on my own,got there no problem, gave Robbo a lift home and guess what happens…
Erm, i said ‘it’s right here’ and you said ‘no i passed these shops on the way here’… Next thing we’re miles away!!
Anyway, who drove to Hyde via Bury?!
Again,you were in the car!!
I think a more measured argument would be who drove to Whitby last year, and did we find it ok? It was me, and yes we did.
I drove to Matlock, we found it straight away. I drove to Leek last year - no problemo.
The other year when you and Tim went Telford, didn’t you go the wrong way?! Yox, you’re a liability behind the wheel - admit it!!
Lest we all forget the night that Robbo walked home along a straight road from Delamere to Northwich after the Charlatans gig, eventually having to phone Stu to pick him up:
"Stu? I’m at Nunsmere Hall - where the f*ck am I???"
So I think that you have no room to talk, Robinson…
That was walking though, it’s a whole different conversation…
We got talking to the film crew before the match and they said that footage of this match should be going out on the "Football Mundial" show on Sky TV next week. I understand this is likely to be on Tuesday but may well be repeated as most of you will be at Fleetwood.
Will be worth watching even more now with the aftermath of Liam’s goal and performance in particular.
FIFA Futbol Mundial is on Sky Sports One next Wednesday at 7pm and repeated on Thursday at 9.30am
