Sadly, Witton’s Academy team’s involvement in this year’s FA Youth Cup came to an end on Thursday night as they were beaten 5-0 by Hyde United at the U Lock It Stadium.

The Tigers strong performance particularly in the first half saw them cruise into a 4-0 interval lead but, the scoreline doesn’t reflect the fact that Albion put a great deal of effort into the game without reward.

Driven on by midfielder Isaac Shaw, Witton weren’t able to breach a tough Hyde defence and the Tigers added a fifth goal after the break as Albion’s cup run came to an end but they were by no means disgraced.
