The quiz will be primarily Witton based with a bit of non-league thrown in.
The event has been organised based on supporters feedback.
I spoke to a few people the other night and a lot of the responses were very non-committal. Get your mates and get down to the club next Thursday!!!
JV is giving his time up after training for this, along with Pritch and a few others, so can as many supporters as possible show their commitment and get down to support this event as a forerunner to the season please.
Back from Spain and charged with coming up with a quiz for all Wittoners, young, old & indifferent!!
As suggested, a few months back the Quiz will be based on Witton Albion.
Most of the actual questions will be covering the last 30 years.
I intend also having a few picture rounds that should bring back memories as well as testing you out.
Overall I’m hoping that no-one should find it too difficult and what with the Manager’s Forum and the Pie & Peas supper then we should all be in for a good night to get us all in the mood for the immenent start of the season
Well done to everyone, all there seemed to enjoy the evening and it was good to see the players also putting in an appearance with 3 of them (Tony Barras - new team captain btw), Steve Brodie & Adam Warlow facing the fans.
Thanks Si for your excellent work with the Forum, if you can let us all know when Cheshire FM will broadcast it then I’m sure the fans not present will be impressed as all of us there were.
Managed to get 6 teams - of various numbers, ages together for my part the Quiz bit. Think we had about 40 people taking part and all seemed to enjoy being taxed on their Albion memories. At least I hope they did!
Teams nominated an Albion player as their team name and the result was.
"Dorryl Proffitt" - 78 points
"Mike Kilduff" - 74 points
"Bernard Moors" - 73 points
"Adam Warlow" - 62 points
"Steve Ellis" - 60 points
"John White" - 53 points
Don’t think Chalkie will be too impressed with the Powell Clan’s effort eh?
Thanks guys, it’s quality not quantity. In truth as a percentage based on our regular home gates (plus the fact it is mid August) the turn out was probably about right. We had over 50 there. In percentage terms it would be like 12,000 turning up at Old Trafford!!!
Pleasure to be involved, thanks to Chad Snr/Jnr, Neil and others for all their input. The more we do the more we can build the club and we have a great nucleus of fans to build from.
