Thanks RO another good example of how a club should be run, open and informative to the fans and volunteers and making sensible decisions for the future of our club.
Will any of the football management be down for this, would be nice to have an update !
Updating the supporters with a couple of signings would be good. We can live in hope.
Yes Sully will be attending after training finishes which is away from the ground tonight.
Interesting forum with a lot of good questions asked around the ground share, commercial activities and of course the football team. There is a huge amount of hard work going on in all areas of the club ably supported by some new directors who spoke very well.
Sully is clearly passionate about the club, is working his socks off and is doing everything he can to strengthen the team and make sure we stay in the league. He reckons we need to win 6 games from our last 15 (10 of which are at home), which sounds like it could be done.
It could be a rough ride, but we all need to stay positive and get behind the team
Totally agree last night was very informative, it laid to rest a lot of the stories regarding the ground share, and was extremely positive on the commercial director front he seemed to have a great business plan set out.
Great to have Sully down and fair play to him for doing that, can’t have been easy fielding all those questions with our recent form, but it was all positive no excuses he knows what we need and I believe from what he said he has a clear vision of what we need, and what we need rid of. But as Colin mentioned last night it was great to hear some news regarding the squad for the fans who aren’t able to stop down and have a chat with Sully after the games for various reasons.
All in all a good night.
Yes put a lot of people’s mind at rest and put to bed some rumours put around by 1874 fans, in summary from what I can remember :
1874 were approached by Witton to groundshare but chose not to proceed.
No single shareholder has more than 10% of Witton shares preventing a small group of shareholders from dominating the clubs position meaning the fans who are shareholders have the future of the club in there hands.
The groundshare has plenty of protection in place for Witton including a bond, pay upfront and personal guarantees that are not from Rushe and the league itself has put in place further actions in the event of issues.
The money will be used wisely to pay down debt, improve infrastructure and maintain the playing budget.
The pitch will have extra work done in the summer with new equipment on site and more during the playing season.
Sully has plenty of irons in the fire to bolster the team and John Shawe is nearing fitness
The new directors seem really good and well on board which I think is great, if they deliver we will be in for a great future
We will be doing everything possible to avoid the drop which would prove to be expensive overall to the club
A very good night with honest and open questions and answers from fans and the board.
Who are the new directors?
The two who were at the meeting were Carl Oates who owns a building supply company and was commercial director at Warrington town he is now our commercial director and John Salmon a lawyer and football agent who will be lawyer and also director of football development sorry cant remember the other directors name sure someone will advise, both spoke well and passionately and were obviously football men.UTA
Sounds promising
A very interesting meeting and good to get clarity on behind the scenes activities including why certain players left and how close we came to signing others including Matty Woods who gave his word he would be rejoining on New years eve only to use the Witton deal to promote himself to other clubs!!
The new Directors spoke very well and certainly enthused about their roles within the Club, Sully as ever spoke with total honesty and all on all i came away feeling very positive about the future.
Roll on tomorrow and hopefully the first of the 6 wins we require
