FC United of Manchester vs Witton Albion Youth.

Witton Albion’s Youth team kick off their season on Sunday afternoon when they travel to FC United in a North West Youth Alliance fixture. The Witton team has new personnel this season so until they’ve played a competitive match together it’s not easy to gauge their potential and prospects in one game. They have had a reasonable pre season where they’ve scored goals but have also conceded so it all makes for some entertaining times ahead. Witton will be hoping that in-form striker Kyle Phipps can carry his pre season form into the league campaign but the opening game will be competitive as will the whole campaign. Kick off at Broadhurst Park is 2.30pm.

North West Youth Alliance:

FC United of Manchester 7 Witton Albion Youth 1.

Witton’s Youth team got off to the perfect start in their opening North West Youth Alliance fixture at Broadhurst Park on Sunday afternoon when in-form striker Kyle Phipps gave them an early lead. FC United equalised on 35 minutes and the teams went in level at half time.

Nobody could’ve envisaged what was to follow in the second period, as the home side took complete control and ran in a further six goals in a fifteen minute spell, to take the game well out of Witton’s reach.

Despite the final scoreline, a special mention should be given to Luke Walton who worked tirelessly for the team and never gave up.
