Zero wins in 10 games is pretty clear relegation form! Other teams in the bottom getting results, we needed change asap! We get in a striker and then put him left wing and bring back in a striker with 1 goal all season to save the season. I’m sorry it would be laughable now if it wasn’t serious.
Do we now start to plan for next season in the lower division, because I cannot see a way out with the current set up! It’s the definition of insanity to keep doing the same thing and expect change.
Onto Ashton now, one we arguably could win! Hopefully we will go and give them our support but I’m losing heart now.
C.J., if you’re suggesting a change of management who do you suggest comes in and what money would they need? As I said in a previous post, where do we as a club stand off the field with regards to a board of directors to make decisions? Yesterday the acting chairman was there and left after 20 mins so, how committed is he if he can’t stay all the game. As for Dowling, yesterday he was ineffective because the pitch was very heavy and didn’t suit his sort of game as it didn’t JJ.
So team-wise yesterday’s was probably picked to suit the conditions and for 45 mins we were well in the game, second half we were poor but I still think we will stay up and then decisions can be made in the summer.
Maybe a change of mgr but it would probably have to be an in-house mgr, a senior pro such as Rob Hopley because of contractual budget issues. Or maybe the current mgr changes approach and goes for a more attacking football style and tactics.
As to the board, the current Chairman is a stand-in only and will do all he can to stabilise the position until changes can be sorted. We still have some good Wittoners involved in decision-making so I’m comfortable. I hope you are right about staying up but I’m not confident at all.
We need Rob Hopley on the pitch but he would be a good shout as manager in the future.
