Some information which I trust will be of use to supporters intending to travel to Saturday’s forthcoming league game against F.C. United of Manchester.
Car Parking
It’s approximately 30 miles from Wincham Park to Gigg Lane. By road take the A556/A56 to Stretford (via Altrincham), then left on to the M60 to Junction 17 (signposted Whitefield), then north along the A56 towards Bury. Gigg Lane is on the right four miles after leaving the motorway. For those with SatNav the postcode is BL9 9HR
Cost for parking on the ground is £3.00. Same price at the nearby St. Luke’s Primary School.
Please note that unless you have a resident’s permit, on street parking is no longer allowed in the near vicinity of the ground.
Public Transport from Northwich to Bury
Best value is probably a Greater Manchester Wayfarer ticket. Cost is £9.20. It’s valid on the train from Northwich to Altrincham and then on the Metrolink tram from Altrincham to Bury Interchange and on the bus for the one mile hop from Bury Interchange to the ground. (The 135 bus is probably best).
There are trains at xx35 each hour from Northwich to Altrincham, journey time 26 minutes, change at Altrincham for a tram to Bury, onward journey time is a further 48 minutes. So if you get the 1235, depending on connections, you’ll be in Bury for around 1400.
Please note that if you stay on the train to Manchester, there are no trams to/from Piccadilly Station at the present time due to engineering work.
All trams from Altrincham go directly to Bury.
Admission at Gigg Lane
Gigg Lane is all seated. Prices are £7.50 (Adults), £5-00 (Concessions), £2-00 (Under 18s). Albion supporters will have their own seated section on the left hand side of the main stand. Match programmes are £2.00. Match poster at the following link <>

Noisy, but friendly and very much looking forward to the return fixture at Wincham Park in January as it’s a Saturday 3 p.m. fixture!
