FC United

I just want to apologise to Gwyneth for me not being at the game yesterday. Obviously it was of huge significance to the result and performance. I can only hope that it isn’t the result that sees us relegated, and if it is then i will take full responsibility.

Rest assured Hannah has been informed that her birthday is cancelled next year, or at the very least she will be forced to spend it at a location deemed fit by Witton Albion Football Club.

Hugely honoured that as the Club finds itself in an extremely precarious position you find my whereabouts such a huge talking point.

Meanwhile back in the real world…is this football club EVER going to realise that we need to stick together? The way things are going, Left Pegger is absolutely right, we’re going to be playing Cheshire League before we know it.

I don’t envy the hand that Sully has been dealt in taking over when he did. It takes a huge character to turn things around when a team is in such a slump, and he does need time.

However - and this is a huge ‘however’ - talking a good game will only get a manager so far. Sooner or later results have to improve, with my preference being on sooner!!

Fans arguing with other fans, and players arguing with fans is not going to speed this process up!!

As pointed out earlier, i wasn’t at the game yesterday (and i don’t even have a doctor’s note) so i wont comment on anything that happened on the pitch. Although i do feel that that losing Powell, Andrews and our first choice keeper would impact any team going to a tough place like FCUM.

Witton Albion have been in worse scrapes, and we have survived as one club.

Never dull though is it…

If people are being challenged because they are not at certain games that just ridiculous ! As we go through our life things change priorities change but usually people remain Wittoners so let’s gets a sense of reality and let’s not call Wittoners or squabble there are still a few VxxS fans to pick on and even some new ones in 2012 Northwich to go at but of course they have no history or character to pick on !

For heaven’s sake. All this bickering on a public forum is pathetic. Can I suggest we all grow up and support our club, management and players!

UTA!

For those that know me, can I clarify my username is Jono - not to be confused with, and in no way connected with Johno.

To the person who can not even spell teppanyaki it was very nice thank you and if you have a problem with any of us can you please say it to my face as this is not ment to be a site to have a slanging match on it is for football related thing
And buy the way we had already had TEPPANYAKI FRIDAY NIGHT !!!

To be honest im not really sure which person was slagging our kid off saying hes out of order “because he doesn’t go to many games” so difficult to know who to speak to.

Getting absolutely bored of the non stop slagging each other off after every defeat though.

Can’t remember the last time i even posted on here but after reading the last 3 pages on this post i couldn’t help myself.

Yesterday’s game was a disaster from start to finish and quite possibly one of the worst Witton performances i have ever seen. To be 3-0 down in the 8 minutes is not acceptable and never should a game be over in the first 9 minutes.

For me personally, the biggest embarrassment yesterday wasn’t from on the field (and that takes some beating), it was from off it. Fans slagging off other fans, questioning where other fans were, having a go at other fans for having a different opinion were bad enough to witness, then players having a go at fans at the end, that just topped it all off. Is any of this really going to help?! We will get through this but things aren’t going to change over night and as Robbo said we all need to stick together.

This thread is meant to be about the FC United game but all i’ve seen over the last couple of pages are fans having a go at one another. Now is the time we need to stick together and support our club. Sully and the lads because if we don’t, things aren’t going to get any better any time soon.

Yeah i think we held out for 12 minutes before shipping a third goal when we lost there during the relegation season!!

What is it with Witton and FC? Never just turn up and play out a boring nil nil-er do we!!

Agree with your post Becca, you should be writing on here more often B)

Anyway, surely the most important thing here is what on earth is a tepparapati thingy?!

I really don’t know what all the fuss is about, I only said what nearly every other supporter was either thinking or saying, just I said it to their face! They’re adults, they gave it back just as much to me so fair play, sometimes a good argument can give everyone a kick up the arse! I’ve messaged Gards today and it’s forgotten about now.
Plus who cares if I don’t go every week, usually I’m either working or have a 4 month old daughter to look after, which believe it or not comes first, and to be honest other times I just can’t be bothered going cos it’s such a depressing place to be at the moment!
So to whoever was slagging me off for not going every week, you’ve just ruined my Tuesday night cos I’m gonna have to go and watch that Doodson Cup game now!

As Alan Hansen might have said “Diabolical, woeful, shocking, abysmal!”

I’ve only seen the highlights, but looking at the starting 11 it appears we had a number of players playing out of position. Playing a side like FC we were always going to get found out doing this. Since the start of the season we’ve lost Sanna, Lea, Hall, Davidson, Sheens, Howard, Dawson, Harvey, Bakkor and had Barnes and now Powelly out injured for a prolonged period of time. I know we were running over budget but as it stands we’ve only suitably replaced Lea with Shaw. Is it any wonder we’re in our current predicament, Sully has been here a while now and questions remain if he has the contacts to bring in the quality we desperately need.

It was painful enough the first time around so i don’t think I’ll bother :frowning:

Well I’m a glutton for punishment but it was painful wanted to check Rainfords red card was correct and it was !

Its not very often that I come on here these days because I have a tendency to upset people. I’m from the old school like WHS, 57 years a supporter, who really has Witton at heart but is similar in that i say what I think rather than kind of hold back and be a master of diplomacy. Thats why I’m not on here much as I usually tend to get shot down in flames.
I was’nt going to bother saying anything on the forum but having as usual attended the game on Saturday I was so appalled at what I saw and the scenes after the game which sums up the state of our club at the moment which has a divided fan base. The club I love is in freefall rather than consolidating our position as senior club in town we’ve moved backwards in the space of 3 months and the 2 factions of Northwich vics and even Winsford must be laughing at us as is the whole of Non League.
As for Saturdays display it was’nt only the players who let us down but the manager with his team selection. Tony is an extremely nice guy who has gone out of his way to speak to me 3 or 4 times since he joined the club so I hate to critisize but something has to be done and quick. After Saturday though it really brings into question whether he has the managerial and other abilties to get us going again. Playing Barnes in midfield and Corbett left back was suicide. Barnes is not mobile enough for midfield and Corbett would have been better suited to that role as he is at least an enthusiastic runner. Rayneford is woeful I hope he does’nt play for us again wud rather see Koral in the strikers role because at least he runs. The O’Brien lad in midfield is just so way out of his depth feel a little sorry for him but he passes the ball and stands still with the pass inveriably going to the opposition. In reality Tony’s only good signing is the lad Shaw which begs the question has he the contacts and the credentials to do what is essentailly a really tough job now!! We’ve actually let better players go with the replacemenst apart from Shaw very poor. I really feel for our genuine players Moyo was outstanding Saturday kept going despite 4 nil down. Guards always plays with his heart on his sleeve as does Danny Andrews and Titch. To see Titch head bowed at the end on Saturday really upset me because here is a lad who is trying but gets no service from our woeful midfield.
So what can we do to arrest the slide. No easy answers but certainly on the football management front I think we need an experienced manager, who has managed at the highest level on a tight budget and who has contacts in the football world. Paul Ogden wud be such I guy but I doubt he would do it as he has other things going on. So we come to my choice and I must stress here before going any further its just my view and my opinion so everyone else will and can disagree with me. My choice wud be Graham Heathcote. He’s not in football at the moment . He is known to us. He managed Alty for years on low budgets in the full conference. He went into Stafford last year and almost saved them from relegation. He obviously has contacts and gets results reasonably quickly has he can organise a team and use the assets he’s got effectively. IN SHORT HE IS EXPERIENCED and EFFECTIVE.
I know we d be changing managers again quickly but I feel we have no option the job is too big for Tony its obvious that a lot of talking is taking place but very little action in the form of decent signings and it really is upsetting that he’s such a nice guy.
I know there maybe some misgivings at board level about Mr Heathcote but we are facing a real crisis so any diffrences need to be sorted as we need a strong football man like him to try and get us out of the mess we are in and if he can’t then set us up to bounce back next year.
One further thing I’ve seen Robbo on here posting and I don’t normally agree with a lot of things he says, (its all opinions anyway but one thing the lad has is Witton Abion football club at heart. So when he says we need to all stick together he’s so right because the divisions that are opening up are really detrimental to us at the moment at a time when we need a united front.
So cmon lets all stick together even if we don’t always agree we have to accept the majority decision and carry on supporting the club like I will have to when we will probably continue with the present Football managent setup.
Onward and upward lets make the right decisions now so we can try to reverse the decline and move forward again.

Don’t think Graham Heathcote would fancy it, he walked away from stafford because they couldn’t give him the budget he wanted. Cant imagine our budget being significantly bigger than staffords.

I hope things work for Sully as hes a top bloke, but sometimes being a good bloke isnt enough and hes aware of time running out to get out of this awful run were on
If we go out of the Trophy on Saturday i dread to think what will happen, a good Trophy run is the last thing we have to look forward to apart from a massive relegation scrap.
Sad times!
