Given that FIFA is in such a mess should we withdraw? Perhaps such an action migh stun the association into getting its’ house in order. We never win anything so I doubt we would miss it, but they might miss us, for how could they be considerd the World’s governing body without the inventors of the game being part of it? We were not members before the Second World War and the World Cup prior to our involvement was not a very high profile tournament it only became what it is when we joined. Qatar was the last straw for me, what a joke trying to play football in 50 degrees Centigrade, we play in 50 degrees Fahrenheit!! I understand most fans and players would miss our involvement in the World Cup and the European Championship but what else can we do to sort out the mess Blatter and FIFA have got World Football in?

I think the only withdrawal that will shake FIFA is withdrawal of sponsorship from the likes of Adidas and Coca-Cola. It was the murmurings of discontent from these companies that forced those small concessions out of Blatter this week. The English bid to get the election postponed was just regarded as toy throwing because we’d failed to get the world cup - and there’s some truth in that.
Frustrating though it is, I think the best course of action is to wait for FIFA to implode and come crashing down from within. This will happen in the next 5-10 years.
