Financial Fair Play Fines

So Manchester City get fined 50million quid (but not really, just 20million) for breaching the financial rules and the fine goes to…Youth football? struggling local clubs keeping the game alive at grass roots level? Inner city football projects? improving facilities at Youth Clubs that offer football? Supporting players whose careers were shortened by injury? No, you guessed it folks, it goes to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Chelsea et al as a ‘reward’ for not breaking the rules. Top level football eh? A load of old shit.

Pretty disgusting that, football is in such a bad place just now, money’s the root of all evil they say !

I have pretty much lost all interest in the premier league and the England side recently, shame really as I’ve followed it all my life but I’m just not interested in the nonsense that comes with it nowadays. Just the albs for me now, with a nod to the spurs if they ever win anything (ok unlikely) like most premiership “fans”. I do wonder if the floaters will follow Chelsea or City this season, probably both until its all decided. Remember when both these clubs were division 2 for long periods in their history, how money talks hey! Its like watching formula 1 now - incredibly boring and the team with the most cash will always win. Yawn.

Same for me mate. I’d been going to anfield for over 20 years but when I started going to watch the albs a few years ago I lost interest in the "superstars " and now it’s witton and non league all the way!

I quite agree with all posts regarding the sick joke that the Premier League has become - and we all know the reasons why. I Still want the mighty Hammers to win, they are my boyhood team and I was born only a few miles from the ground, but if you asked me to swap a West Ham win for a Witton win, NO WAY!! It’s pretty obvious to me that many of our squad are still playing for the love of the game, and it is only a game, albeit a beautiful one ( on occasions). It should be about pleasure, community and comradeship and all those old-fashioned socialist sentiments that have been dispensed with by so many politicians .

Here’s to a much needed win on Saturday, as money still talks (but doesn’t scream, at our level…).

Sepp Blatter in charge, enough said. Why doesn’t Bobby Charlton’s stand against him, with his record and worldwide appeal he might even win.
WHS.

Bobby Charlton is nearly as old as Blatter and knows next to nothing about world football administration , he might be a nice old bloke but in charge of FIFA ? We need new younger more dynamic leadership to take on the new challenges in word football eg greed, corruption, racism, betting etc etc. the one who might be worse than Blatter is Platinisation !

Knowing nothing about World football as it is at present is no bad thing and you are right, no Platini please. But dear God there has to be somebody out there who is honest and has a modicum of common sense.

Its hard to think of anyone ?

BRIAN PRITCHARD AND MARK HARRIS!!!

It won’t be a British guy Europe and the continents hate us.

Their players don’t hate us, they are all over here taking our money.
WHS.

We were not talking about players but officials that could run FIFA the way the voting works those other country set ups will not select a Britain to the top job they will keep it in there own crony house where corruption can thrive sadly.

Why not leave FIFA and just concentrate on our own game? If we did I think a lot of other countries might have the balls to join us, especially in Europe who are being constricted by FIFA rules on how many European countries can qualify for the World Cup despite the fact that European football leads the world in almost every way.
WHS.

Big problem is FIFA own the World Cup anything less would be a token tournament and we already have a European Championship !

I think the best British candidate would be Gary Lineker. He’s intelligent, still relatively young and has a worldwide reputation, having won the Golden Boot at the World Cup, played for Barcelona and played in the J league in Japan. He’s also spoken out many times about FIFA corruption particularly in relation to the Quatar world cup fiasco.
It won’t happen of course. I can’t see him wanting to quit his comfy berth at the BBC for one thing. But in an ideal world he would be the man.

The problem with Gary Lineker is that he is far too sensible and honest and knows too much about football to be involved with Fifa. Unfortunately he would get shot to pieces by the rest of the Fifa cronies.

A World Cup devoid of England and several other leading nations from Europe would be devalued, people would want to see Italy, Spain, Germany and England more that they would Cameroon and South Korea etc. If the three European countries I mentioned left many would follow, look what happened in Rugby Union, yes I know that was clubs but the same rule applies, if the big clubs or countries go the others follow.

It won’t happen !

Oh I know that, it isn’t about football it is about money.
