Anyone else a bit underwelmed by these fixtures? I mean, Rushall away on boxing day for example!
No disrespect meant to Rushall by the way! Just a bit of a distance to go on Boxing day!
Loads of people moaned last year that we had all the best fixtures at home on bank holidays and some even suggested it was because Mark was the chairman on the league!
Guess that puts that theory to bed for this season.
Massively underwhelmed. Rushall Boxing Day and both FC United games being midweek sums it up!
Playing FCUM twice at home in 11 days at the end of October (19th & 29th).
Neil will be a happy bunny for a couple of weeks!
Nice away day to start the season.
AND SO IT BEGINS!!! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!
WHS. :clap
One of my favourite away days up first too B)
Have to say abit disappointed with the long journey on boxing day and there are likely to be less people at the two midweek fixtures against FCUM than if they were on sats.
I see the words have already started. A Buxton fan has referred to us on Twitter as a club full of racists.
At first I thought they’d got us confused with Witton, Birmingham - after all where is Witton? but as they ain’t in our league then no. Looking at the Boxing Day fixture list then seems the league didn’t really have too much choice geographically as we looked to have agreed with Nantwich as our choice of Bank Holiday opponents anyway.
AFC Fylde vs Skelmersdale United
Ashton United vs FC United of Manchester
Barwell vs Grantham Town
Buxton vs Matlock Town
Marine vs Chorley
Nantwich Town vs Stafford Rangers
Rushall Olympic vs Witton Albion
Stamford vs Kings Lynn Town
Stocksbridge Park Steels vs Frickley Athletic
Trafford vs Droylsden
Whitby Town vs Blyth Spartans
Worksop Town vs Ilkeston FC
No doubt a lot of Wittoners will be pleased by the Whitby date, not too long to save up for this time around though! But hang on that’s also the date for the FAC 3rd Round Qualifying so better make your bookings provisional eh
Thanks to all for all the rushall niceties!
We don’t make the fixtures, maybe you should ask AFC Fylde??? I thought they were in charge.
On a side note, appearing for us against walsall last night was Matty wood, can I get some opinions of him? Did you guys rate him at the Albion?
If we can sign him I believe he will be a definite upgrade to what we already have.
Thanks
Matty is a great player, very fast, I will be pig sick if he leaves Witton. .sick
WHS.
Yeah he’s a good player but I think he believed his own press too much at the end of the season. No offense to rushall but it’s hardly a step up in his career is it?
WTF is he thinking of joining Rushall, I AM DISGUSTED!
WE PLAY FOOTBALL, YOU’RE CALLED RUSHALL…
He will sign at Witton. I seem to remember him going off to Droylsden and then coming back!!!
What witty banter in your slagging of rushall…
I’ll take it on the chin as we always do…
He may well end up back with you, but maybe we might make him a decent offer finance wise and also it may have something to do with him working in the midlands that that’s why he’s with us.
No doubt, You guys did play the best football in the league last year that I saw- and I saw everyone. But you are no better than we, last time I checked we were in the same league…we are evolving as a club and team, but as a small village club, battling with the likes of mighty witton Albion, we aren’t doing too badly.
And I haven’t even mentioned shaun tuck…
Good luck and god bless for the whole season, you may not like us and you may not like travelling down from your lofty perch up t’north, but as ever you will receive a warm and friendly welcome to dales lane, just like everybody else… Apart from Chasetown!!
Every pre-season we go through this charade with Matty, where he tries to sign for bigger clubs. Usually he sees the light, and re-signs for us.
However, this time, he is looking at a club which is far more local to where he lives, and as such, I am more doubtful that he will see that he is better off staying with us,
Pritch might be just getting tired of all these shenanigans, and may not fight to keep him, However, we have a great replacement in Josh Glover… different style, but overall, he may have more to offer us in this position
Don’t write of Matty just yet, he is a great player for our club and we can ill afford to lose him, after all he made the representative team which no one else did!!
